Roaring 1920s meets the rockin' present
Towering 40 floors above the Magnificent Mile, the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago was an institution long before celebrity guests like Dave Navarro passed through its black polished granite and terra cotta walls. The Carbide & Carbon Building earned landmark status in 1996 for its designóa champagne bottle with gold-foil top bubbling over the Windy City. Today, the property takes on rocker appeal and remains a popular place to stay. Room walls are covered with rock-n-roll memorabilia and hip room decor to keep the party going all night long.

  • Gibson Guitar rentals

Great hotel!

We had a Great experience at this hotel. We arrived early and our rooms were ready which we had hoped for but not requested. We walked everywhere so never had to retrieve our car. We had a corner room so we could see the river out one side, and Millennium Park out of the other. Great weekend!

Great Location

The hotel was nice and in a great location!! You could walk to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, etc. We stayed in a studio suite. The views were wonderful. The room was a little run down for the price. The sheets were dirty and the couch was old. It wasn't horrible, but would probably stay somewhere else for my next trip.

Love this place!

I love the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago! The rooms are super nice! there was a king bed, a dresser, an amour, and a chair, so there is space in the room but not a ton of space to put your bag other than the floor, if you're like me and don't unpack at hotels. I love the location! right across from the mile and just a couple blocks from state street, so great for shopping! also not far from grant park or navy pier, both are within walking distance. Parking is $60 for valet but you can get your car out as many times as you like.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Right across the street is stillwater bar and grill. The food is good and reasonably prices, but it being right across the street is nice. Also, highly recommend eating at Eataly! its a grocery store but upstairs there are 4 different restaurants. It is a little crowded and noisy so not great for a romantic experience but highly recommend it! Its not far from the hotel just across the river on Ohio Street.

Treat yourself

First off, I need to give a special thanks to the staff; excellent customer support. I was able to get a room on the 20th floor and had a great view of the city. The room was very modern and clean; the king size bed and giant pillows made it hard for me to wake up in the morning. Excellent location as well; there was a little bit of everything within walking distance of the building. Great hotel.

Good for the location

We stayed one night at the Hard Rock in downtown Chicago. It's a GREAT location for tourists. Close to the Miracle Mile, Navy Pier, Grant Park, etc. But lack of vending, average room amenities, and not very friendly staff would make me pay a little more and stay somewhere else in the area.

Grand Location

The hotel was conveniently located near the Oriental Theatre. The staff was very welcoming when I entered. Once I got up to my hotel floor; I was a little uneasy about how dark it was down my hallway.

Average for the price

Overall, I thought that a reputable hotel like this would provide a more memorable experience than it did. The location was the best asset. Parking is more expensive than other four/five star hotels nearby. Bar closes kind of early (midnight Friday/Saturday) considering the "hard rock" allure. Rooms were basic for the price paid.

Great location

Clean hotel. Great location within walking distance of the popular sights and shops. I would return but would probably request a room on a upper level. Traffic notice was the one down side
