Sufficient
The Hotel is particularly old, but it has been kept in good shape. My room was very quiet, and it had 10 foot ceilings which was nice. It was a little expensive, because it isn't that nice but the location is unbeatable. I was in town without a car, and it worked great for my needs.

Very Old Feel, But Good Deal
Despite a sparkling lobby, the Congress feels like it's step back in time. The rooms are oddly apportioned with really high ceilings and lots of window space. Overall, I certainly didn't feel pampered, but the location was wonderfully convenient and the staff was friendly. When booking, remember to factor in the parking costs. It will run you at least $35/day (I stayed late the second day of my stay, so that was $49), unless you can think of a more clever system than I did!

Location, location!
Gr8 location for getting around the city, staff at front desk could have been a tad more gracious, others were quite helpful. Overall not bad, I would stay again since it's close to everything.

The hotel is right across the street from the Auditorium Theater where I went for a performance. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy for me. I have stayed here before and will again.

Decent location hotel
Overall a good experience. The location is perfect for visiting the Art Institute and getting around town via the Rails is very easy thanks to multiple stations being a few blocks away in every direction. Paid WiFi/internet access was not a plus so business travelers beware. The hotel is older and it's visible in the rooms but for the value it's not a bad option.

Short walk from hotel
Visit a CVS or Vending station and purchase a Unlimited Rail pass. The "L" trains can pretty much get you anywhere you need to be in no time and will save you a ton of walking as well as money on cab fare.
