Travel for an academic conference
This was a perfectly serviceable hotel--nice bathroom, comfortable bed, right near downtown/shopping/etc. However, the cheaper rooms don't have windows with views to the street, but instead to a very dark, enclosed alley-like space. Also, there were no closets, just some hangers. They could easily install better storage space instead of the mini soda vending machine. In all, the hotel's hipness isn't really preferable to more generic hotel chain style, but it's plenty comfortable for its price-point and is in a great location for tourists.

Good deal..
Kind of like the Paramount used to be in NYC back in the day. Not too expensive, the standard room is not so big. Good modern casual place to stop.

Good Value for the money
I always read other reviews before choosing where I stay. The other reviews were very accurate. The location was great. Very close to many sites, stores and restaurants within walking distance. The room was cool! Very art deco, contemporary style. Really liked it. Although the pillows were soft, it was still quite comfortable. Not much cold water or pressure in the sink, but it was ok. View of a garage. Shorted wash clothes each day. In comparison to other hotels in the area, this was quite inexpensive and a great value. Hotel staff was nice, always a greeting and very helpful. Unexpected breakfast included each morning. Would recommend it and stay again if I go back.

Great Value
I don't expect much from my hotels, i just want a clean room and internet, so if that's what you're looking for, this is a good hotel. They were renovating a few floors but i wouldnt have notice if i just stuck to the stairs. also, i was put in one of the renovated rooms, it was very nice.

Weekend Getaway
Wife and I stayed here for the value and location. The room was small, but I didn't expect/need much more than a place to sleep and shower. Only a few blocks from Michigan Ave, and the red line stop was around the corner, which was perfect to get to Wrigleyville or State St/Sears Tower/Art Institute. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good also. Overall I would definitely stay here again. For the price and location, it really was great.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
If u don't want to spend the $$$ on Michigan Ave, walk or take the Red Line to State St. Much more affordable stores.
