The Big Island of Hawaii’s Gold Coast beckons visitors to the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Waikoloa. Set on the Kohala Coast, the 15-acre resort faces the naturally sheltered Anaeho’omalu Bay Beach and has six floors of rooms and suites.

Guests can choose rooms that offer a view of tropical gardens, the mountains, the pool or the Pacific Ocean. Each room has authentic Asian and Polynesian decor that reflects the island's culture.

Highlights

Anyone who enjoys the water will appreciate the resort's location on the half-mile long Anaeho’omalu Bay swimming beach, the outdoor Infinity Pool and the outdoor Children’s Pool. Visitors can enjoy activities such as water sports, which include kayaking and scuba diving; outdoor activities, including hiking on a nature preserve trail; and on-site Hawaiian cultural activities.

The Mandara Spa offers exotic spa treatments for the entire body. Diners can choose to eat casual Pacific Rim and American-style food at the Hawaii Calls Restaurant & Lounge or make reservations to attend the Sunset Luau, which offers an authentic Polynesian show and food on the beach.

More restaurants and activities are located nearby, including the Waikoloa Kings’ Golf Course and the Waikoloa Beach Golf Course, both of which are only a half-mile away, and the Waikoloa Queens’ Marketplace, which is filled with shops and restaurants.

Great - after my room change...

When I checked in I was given a room on the 5th floor which had more of a view of the roof than the mountains. The front desk agent was wonderfully helpful and got me moved to a room on the 2nd floor with a garden view. It made my stay a completely different experience. The easy access to the beach was great, and provided respite from the families by the pool for this solo traveler.

Awesome family trip

The resort was a fantastic value with a great overall experience. We have stayed in much more expensive hotels in Hawaii, and this location was a much better value for an equivalent experience.

Hawaii Bound

The Marriott is very nice, the grounds are kept immaculate. The pools are beautiful. The rooms are a little small, however the beds are very comfortable and to me that's more important. The only drawback is that there are always business meetings and the business people pretty much take over the whole sitting area on the second floor, nobody wants to be reminded about work, while on vacation. The restaurant is delicious, their prices are about what you will pay just about at every restaurant in Hawaii. We had a fabulous time and would return to The Marriott.

Great place for a relaxing getaway!

The room was clean. The restaurant in the hotel could have been much better with a wider variety. The pool was great and staff was awesome!

Wintry Escape

The Marriott Waikoloa had beautiful grounds and we found the location great, away from the busy area of Kailua but close enough to drive to when desired. The hotel is in the Waikoloa beach area which is essentially an entire resort area with the Hilton nearby as well as numerous developments with timeshares, villas, etc. As a result, if you enjoy walking, there is ample sidewalks and paths to walk daily/ The rooms are on the small side but adequate and the hotel is very well maintained. The salt water hot tub was great and much appreciated after spending our days hiking and exploring. The layout of the hotel is a bit odd and we found ourselves walking around inside the hotel to access our room which was adjacent to a stairwell that didn't connect to our floor. One big drawback for us was the unexpected "resort fee" of $25.00 daily which we didn't see any real benefit for as all the activities have fees as well. It did cover the $18.00 a day parking fee and got us each one free cup of coffee, which was not great. Overall, it is a very nice property but as we tend to be active and there is so much to see and do on the Big Island that, unless you just want to relax and spend a lot of time on grounds, the expense of the hotel is not really worth it.

The best place to stay in BigIsland

We had fantastic trip. Stayed at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa for 10days. Got very good room with partly ocean view, garden view and Mountains view. On clear sky day we were able to see the Haleakala mountain from our bed. Really had great and life long memorable experience. Very near to Kings and Queens market place. You have multiple food options. Nice and clean place. Enjoyed the fire place on the terrace. Dining is lil expensive. But lot of options are available near to this hotel.
