Much more than I expected!

This was my first stay at Paniolo Greens and I'd love to stay there again! It's conveniently located just off of Waikoloa Beach Road, so it was very easy to find. The two story/two bedroom unit we stayed in was surprisingly well stocked and comfortable. We had air conditioning, but the ceiling fans provided enough cool air. My only problem was the w-fi signal was spotty at times, but that might have been a weather issue. Nice pool. Highly recommended!

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Waikoloa Highland shopping center is about a 10 minute walk from the resort. Stop by the grocery store for breakfast items and munchies. Definitely check out their bakery!

Perfect home base for our Hawaii getaway,

Our condo was quiet-both within the unit and as to outside noise. Our four person group had ample space, as there was a little bonus room with TV and day bed to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked, and it was very clean. We had a hurricane treated while we were there, and staff was excellent about keeping us very well informed about what to do. Staff overall was gracious, helpful, courteous and professional. The pool was nice but not deep enough for us (4 ft max), though the ping pong table made up for that!

Nice getaway

It was nice for us as a family to getaway, it has been years since I have been there and it still looks the same. We did experience some issues. Such as the ac in the master room was leaking a lot and the guests upstairs were running up and down. A bit noisy for my 3 month old. Other than that it was a nice retreat.

The best deal on the Big Island without a doubt.

I did a ton of reasearch trying to find the right place to stay while on the Big Island. After looking at the reviews, I went for Paniolo. I was right to believe the great reviews. I will say that this was one of the best deals on a single room that I have ever received. First of all, the room was a fully equipped condo. It had all of the things that you would expect from a great apartment. It was perfectly clean with a view of a nice golf course. The furnishings are from about 10 years ago, but who cares because it was all clean. As everybody knows, Hawaii has very expensive food. There was a nice grocery store within walking distance. With a fully equipped kitchen, cooking was very easy and made it so we didn't have to spend as much as most people would. The location is about 10 miles away from the beach. This is the only reason why it is less expensive than some. It's in a very quiet villiage. In Hawaii, most all beaches are public, so it's not a big concern to be away from the beach.. The concierge gave me great advice about where to go and what to do and was helpful at all times. They can set you up for anything that you could possibly want to do. The staff was always courteous and friendly. Without going into too much detail, the rate was amazing. I was there six days. I saved hundreds of dollars and saved even more by cooking my own meals. I would recommend this property to anybody.

There is a small market close by. It's a little expensive, but when you realize how expensive food is on the island, you won't regret it.

Family getaway

This was our first time here. We enjoyed our stay even though it was a short stay. Our kids enjoyed the pool although there could be a little more amenities for younger children to do. Short and sweet, we enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Nice, quiet, clean

Comes with a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, toaster, coffee maker, some pots and pans, etc.). Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, the carpet was a little older, also comes with 1 parking spot. The location is OK, 30 miles to Kona, 60 miles to Hilo. You have a gas station and grocery store close by. The view from the balcony out West onto the ocean could have been awesome but unfortunately a huge palm tree was in the way....can't win 'em all. Overall a great value.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Don't miss looking at the stars. Go to Mauna Kea visitor center at night or Mauna Loa weather station. You've never seen anything like it. While overcast a the hotel, those places are above the clouds.
