Liked the Greens!

Location was beautiful as we backed on to golf course. Very surprised to see the Turkeys in the morning. Rooms were a little dates but air conditioning worked well. Overall, money well spent and would return

Great place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Paniolo Greens. We paid for a 1BR/1BA unit, but were given a free upgrade to a 2BR/2BA unit with a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Though it was only two of us on this trip, the 2BR units would be great for a family. The only downside for us was that Waikoloa is a drive to just about anywhere. Waikoloa Village does have a good grocery store and several restaurants, though, so it wasn't bad.

Relaxing Place to stay

I wasn't sure about Paniolo Greens before we stayed there because we hadn't been there before but we were not disappointed. It is well cared for and a nice quiet place to stay. It is only 15 minutes from the best beach on the Big Island (Hapuna) and well located if you want to tour the Island. It is an easy 30 minute drive from Kona itself which didn't bother us but could be a problem for some. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating even though we barely needed them as everything went as planned. We had a two bedroom unit which gave the four of us lots of room. We used the barbecue several times which was a brand new Weber. It does have a nicely equipped Kitchen if you choose to cook some of your own meals. It is definitely a way to keep the price of your Hawaii vacation down. Our only complaint which was a minor one was the fact that since the unit was built on a hill, there are lots of stairs. It was just good exercise for us but could be an issue for some. There are probably some units with fewer stairs so if it is a problem, you should ask. One thing that we read before we came was that they mow the golf course early in the morning. Sure enough, at 5 AM some mornings the lawn mower was going but if you close the lanai door, I don't think you would hear much. There is a very nice( not glorious) pool area on the property with a hot tub, kiddy pool, basketball court, tennis court and an exercise room. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Paniolo Greens and would stay there again.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If you are hungry and don't want to drive far, Lava Java in the Wiakola Village is just a few steps from the Condo and provides a good variety of good food at a reasonable price.

Perfect

Everything was perfect, the only little problem for us was the wifi, the hotel had all you might need. Even beach chairs for rent. What a nice place. We will be back as soon as we can.

Amazing place to stay!

This resort was beautiful! Right away when we walked in we were told we had been upgraded to the highly sought corner suite. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, dinning/living room. 2 stories tall! I had expected a normal hotel room and was amazed that this resort room was bigger than the apartment I rent back home! Staff was super friendly and accomodating. 5 miles away from main Waikoloa. Highly recommend!

Great space

From the moment we arrived the landcaped and lovely grounds welcomed us. The grounds and buildings were clean and neat. The staff was friendly and professional. There were free activities and equipment, from basketball, tennis and noodles for the kids to play in the pool. The condo was excellent. Spacious, clean and well decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you might need. Can opener, blender, cups, glasses, pots and pans, cheese grater, wine opener, you name it. It is about 25 minutes from Kona but some of the best beaches are closer to Paniolo than Kona. While we were there the weather was a bit rainy, however while Hilo and Kona got soaked it was simply partially sunny in the area Paniolo is located. I highly recommend this establishment for families or couples and groups.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

One of the best beaches for children and adults is Spencer beach. Located just slightly north on hwy 270 after the junction of hwy 19 and 270.

The room was very roomy and comfortable, I was not expecting the bedroom to be on the second floor. Though it was a really nice room the location is too far and there is only one nice place to eat close by. The 10 a.m. check-out is too early also.
