Royal Lahaina Resort Review
Love the location of the hotel, great beach, not crowded and quiet. Great value amongst the other hotels on the beach. The housekeeping staff needed some additional training, Towels and coffee cups seemed to be a problem. Sometimes we would not receive any towels, other times we just received a few with no bath mat or handtowels. When we first arrived the staff took the dirty coffee cups and never replaced them. I spent time getting coffee cups and towels. The check in staff was very professional and took care of my requests. As a returning guest, I received an upgraded room at no cost.

Maui Family Vacation
The Hotel Staff are very friendly and helpful. If we had a request they were right on it. The Hotel is in a great location by Black Rock where you see turtles, but if you walk a little north there is a coral reef with a lot of fish. This was our second time to this Hotel. We rode the local buses everywhere and walked, which was great! Having a rental car would have been a pain with the prices of car, gas, and parking fees. We would definitely go back. The only downside side is you have to pay for Wifi.

Short walk from hotel
Take the local buses. There is a free one in Kaanapoli that takes you to The Whalers Village from the Hotels. Then there is a local one that is a 1.00 each way that takes you into Lahaina. After eating all the good food it feels great to walk.

good value in the kaabalani beach
hotel in general is good, dont get sucked into upgrading and jumping from garden to side view or beach view ,they are not worth the value ,all their rooms are side view since the building intersect the beach 90 degrees, the diffrences are how high the floor or how far into the beach which is not much.dont pay too much, the front view is the only full view is expensive beach view is not full view.staff are nice in general.luau is a waste of money in my view.they can improve the open buffet breakfast for the $20 dollar price,go for the vallet parking instead the regular its worth the extra $5 on top of the $10 regular price.,the beach towel service is stupid they close by 5 pm,why bother? in general its good place for the value, but after i visited wailea area i regreted going to kaabalani beach area. wailea is much classier and nicer.

Room for improvement
Our partial ocean view room, which also looked out over a golf course, was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff, though friendly, seemed to have trouble getting the amount of towels and wash cloths correct. The lanai was not very private and was noisy because we were situated several floors up above a roof air conditioner. There was no screen in the door wall, even if you wanted to leave it open. The breakfast buffet was good, but pricy. We cut the cost in half by taking it for your entire stay, four days. I'm not sure why resorts like this feel it necessary to nickel & dime their guests with costs for WiFi internet and parking. There are 2 average pools with surrounding lawn space. The ocean beach area was not conducive to recreation with its posted warnings and heavy surf

Great vacation for two.
The staff and amenities were as good as you could ask for. The on site restaurant, while serving great food was on the pricey side. We often would have liked to have a light meal, but nothing was available. We would have preferred to have a choice in amount of food and a choice in prices. We were unable to find inexpensive meals anywhere on the island except for Subway.

Fun with the in-laws
If you are in Maui you won't be staying very long in your hotel, but this hotel ess pretty comfy so staying in was not a problem. It was actually very spacious and the beds felt great. The tub was huge and I had a daily paper come in. It was right down the street from Front street so very convenient. I would recommend.

Information
The hotel experience was just great, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , however I would have asked for more information from the check in desk. I wasn't told of , Luau times internet availability , trolley transportation and times, not much at all. A brief orientation would have been a great benefit. We did figure it out after asking employees as we walked around about the guest relations office who were more than happy to assist us.
