Located at the water's edge across from Lahaina Harbor and next to Banyan Tree Park, the BEST WESTERN Pioneer Inn has been the center of Lahaina Town since its construction in 1901. We are within half a block of water attractions including snorkeling, scuba, surfing, whale-watching, yacht and submarine cruises, sport fishing, parasailing and the inter-island ferry to the neighboring island of Lanai. As a registered historic landmark, we are also in the heart of the historic district and easy walking distance to no less than twenty unique restaurants and art galleries. Whether you want to explore the island or just relax around our pool and enjoy 360 days of sunshine and the most spectacular sunsets in the world, the charm and location of this plantation era accommodation with a full-service restaurant will make your stay on Maui a memory of a lifetime.

Location Location Location

Overall a great stay at the Pioneer Inn. Great location... across the street from harbor and banyan tree. Many great restaurants and art galleries are within a 5 minute walk. Front Street can get noisy at night so an inner courtyard room was perfect. Staff was incredibly friendly, restaurant was okay... but had great live entertainment on Tuesday and Wednesday night(s). Bed was comfortable, but walls are a little thin. Will definitely stay there again!

Ate multiple meals at Aloha Mixed Plate... at the north end of Front Street. Outstanding plate lunches were my favorite meals during a one week stay in Maui.

Fantastic anniversary trip!

We had been on Maui twenty-two years ago and decided that if we ever came back, we would stay at this wonderful, quaint hotel. We both love old hotels and this one has been renovated and was very comfortale. We stayed five days on the Harbor side facing the Banyan Tree. It did get a little noisy in the evening, but using the air conditioning helped us to sleep and we weren't bothered a bit. The music was over around 11 p.m. each night. There is a ceiling fan in the room and a wonderful porch to sit out on and watch the world go by. The room was very clean, made up daily and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the breakfast and dinner at the Pioneer Inn and there were little birds who would eat right from your hand. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful second trip to Maui!!

Wonderful food also right across the street from the Hotel. "Captain Jack's" and "Cool Cats" were recommended. The whole street is filled with wonderful jewlery stores and restaurants. The agents offering free coupons at restaurants are really trying to sell you a time share....beware. We decided against renting a car this time and we walked a little bit to a wonderful beach called "Baby Beach". Water was clear and blue a long way out and it was still only up to the waist. There weren't very many people there and it was a lovely morning.

Perfect location

It may be called Best Western but the hotel itself, Pioneer Inn is a historical landmark. Plus an unbelievable location, right next to the pier. Experience all the buzz around Lahaina. The room was spacious with a lovely balcony facing inwards into the pool. Which was nice and quiet. Good service.

Stay at Best Western Pioneer INN

great. They were friendly, courteous, and quick to fix the only problem we experienced. They offered a food coupon for 15% off of food at their restaurant which was also very good. They have an excellent location for anything you might choose to do.

Pioneer Inn, Lahaina, Maui

Loved the hotel even tho it wasn't 5 star quality. It was a very clean, roomy and delightful room with great ambience. Right on the harbor and is THE historic hotel in town - right on the square. Nice small veranda outside your room and very friendly employees. Right in the middle of everything in Maui's most enjoyable town. Will definitely stay there again.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Great snorkeling ALL around the island. You can see turtles and exotic fish at every beach area where there are rock outcropping extending into the ocean (which is almost everywhere). You can pay for the boat snorkeling trips if you want a nice boat ride to someplace 'special' but you can easily do it on your own around the island. I highly recommend you rent a car and circumnavigate the island or at least drive the Road to Hana (all around) for the best of Maui. Stay a night or two in Hana and don't worry about the guidebooks - there are places to stay everywhere.
