Aston Kaanapali Shores

We were vacationing here on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. It was an excellent location and even had a sea turtle or 2 visit around 4pm each day along the shore while we were there. The condo room was spacious with a great view of the ocean and sunsets. We were surprised by all the extras and additional costs incurred up front. We were aware of the $9/day for parking, but they also included a mandatory $15/day "amenities charge" on top of everything which provided things that are usually included with the hotel fee at other resorts I've stayed at (ex: use of safe, daily paper, daily coffee replenishment, etc). I would also recommend making sure that it is specified that you want a condo room with a beach view, as the first room we had gave us a very tiny view of the ocean and a view of the parking lot. The condo rooms were the ones with the great views from what we gathered and experienced. The hotel had an orientation the first morning we were there, and it really helped us organize our trip. The snorkeling was incredible, and they suggested a few great places to eat and provided some coupons. Overall, we would consider staying there again on a return trip.

Great location and we got a really terrific room - it was supposed to be ocean view and it delivered! We actually requested a 2-bdrm but got a 2-bdrm plus an upstairs 3rd bedroom and loft, which sadly we did not need or use. All the fixtures, utensils, appliances were very nice. Food and drinks were good. Snorkeling here is AMAZING. Internet wifi was mostly good, although it could be hit or miss sometimes. Parking was convenient to our room. [Only negatives were the $5/day for the "fitness center" which was a tiny area crammed with machines and no room to move (plus who charges for their fitness center???). Do NOT get the manicures at the salon - mine was god-awful and way overpriced.] Overall it was a very good experience!

When a hotel advertises FREE wifi, coffee in the room, etc., it is unfortunate when they decide to charge an "amenities fee" of $15. That's just the start. Nothing about this hotel recommends it.

Beautiful property! Clean,comfortable rooms with kitchenette and washer/dryer. Knowledgeable staff are eager to help you get the best Maui has to offer! I found no negatives here. Lovely beach where I could watch sea turtles come very close to shore.

We had our second wonderful stay at Aston Kaanapali Shores. Although our first room was small due to other rooms being booked, we were moved on our second day and had an awesome room from then on. The resort has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and is very family friendly. With four children to keep busy, there was lots to do from walking along the beach to enjoying time at either of the two pools. The ability to get a DVD each night was great for settling the kids. We are hopefully going to return for our third stay as soon as we can. We highly recommend the Aston Kaanapali Shores.

The hotel was clean, Staff very knowledgeable, always courteous, all amenties were great, service at restaurant was quick and reasonable. The grounds were kept just perfect.

Thought I booked a 1 bedroom with kitchen and I mistakenly booked a hotel room (my fault). Tried to upgrade before, but due to spring break they said I would have to see at check-in. When I checked in the girl said she would look, but almost immediately handed my keys and didn't appear to check. We went to our room and I don't think I have been that horrified by a hotel room. It was so small the average person would have to walk sideways when getting into bed near the window. There was an AC unit hanging out the window, the windows were filthy and it was way more depressing than a Motel 6 with mint coloted walls. The bathroom wwas old and disgusting. I called to the front desk and I was told they ould only get me in a 2 bedroom condo. The only way I was going to enjoy my vacation was by getting the heck out of that room. If you want to go to the gym they charge you 15/day. Iff you park a car it is 9/day. The ammenities charge is 15/day and that includes internet etc. This isn't an optional charge. As far as the employees, they wee very friendly and kind. The location is beautiful and right on the beach and the grounds are nice. Once I got into the condo I was pleased. You could still se part of the 1970' s, but thy had upgraded the countertops to granite and there was a beautiful balcony.

Clean room with good service.. pools were a bit small and walk to sandy beach was long so necessitated a drive for beach swimming due to elderly family member. Lovely views and great short excursions possible near hotel. No pushy sales. Relaxing
