Convenient, clean, comfortable
Large room. Central aircon. Overhead fan. Free wifi. 2 armchairs and a desk chair. a balcony with two chairs. Bed with 5 pillows was comfortable. Towels changed everyday with complimentary soap & shampoo. Tiny fridge. A safe for valuables. Elevator. Lots of free parking in the extended parking lot. Convenient walk to shops across the street and to the pier. Continental breakfast of toast and papaya while being serenaded by a sweet lady with her ukelele.

Best free night show on the Big Island is at the Visitor's Center on Mauna Kea from sunset to 10 pm everyday. It's 6 miles off Highway 200 on very good roads for ordinary cars. Obey speed limits on the twisty narrow roads (saw 2 accidents along the way).

Price/value is great
Uncle Billy's is right downtown. Walk out of the hotel and you are in the middle of the action. Beach across the street, restaurants, shops, pier down the street. I am glad I canceled my reservation at a much more expensive resort. Currently being remodeled. No traffic noise in my room.

Across the street from the hotel were great shops- one especially for children. This grandma had fun shopping there! A great ice cream/smoothie place there, too.

4 Stars for a 2 Star Hotel
This is an acceptable hotel for locals that don't spend too much time in the room and if they're looking for a no frills hotel experience. It had hot water, the toilet flushed, and there were no bed bugs. As for location, this hotel has all the other hotels beat!

shared room with the roaches
hotel used to be a great place to stay. now restaurant closed. and place is pretty run down. but staff were helpful and plesant. But whatever you do don't take Go airlines to the Island or anywhere. they ruined our vacation,

Great location
Forget about parking nightmeres and stroll around the beautiful, historic Kona Bay. The hotel has a Polynesian charm. With its reasonable rate, and complimentary Wifi and continental breakfast, this hotel provides a pretty good value.

Horrible disappointment
Booked a full week here, I knew it wasn't the greatest place, but the reviews made it sound simple and clean-- I was expecting a no-frills motor-in with not many amenities, and a good location. It is NOT seaside, as the name implies-- it's across the street and a couple blocks from any water. No beach. The front desk older ladies were so slow and took care of whatever paperwork was in front of them without acknowledging that I was standing there. When we finally got our room I was horrified. I'm a seasoned traveller and not a snob-- but 5 minutes in my room and I had to get out. The mattress was so old and had stains on the sides which indicate bedbugs. The bedding was old and crumbly. The bathroom was like a 1960s motorhome--cheap construction that didn't hold up over time and was never kept clean. I was sure I'd get some kind of disease staying there. The pool was nearby below us and the kids screaming in it made it necessary to close the windows and the AC smelled musty and gross. I checked out 20 minutes later. A customer service rep called the hotel for me to cancel my week reservation. I lost 1 night rate, but I am supposed to be getting refunded for the other 6 nights. It was worth it just to get out if there. And the rep also helped me find a new hotel. Jose at customer service was extrememly helpful getting me out of a disgusting room and into a WAY better one. Twice the cost, but worth it.

USE THE CURBSIDE CHECK IN PORTERS AT THE KONA AIRPORT!!! HANDLE ALL YOUR CHECKED BAG NEEDS (AG INSPECTIONS, WEIGHING) AND THEY HAND YOU ALL YOUR BOARDING PASSES AT THE CURB, NO WAITING!!! THEY WORK OFF TIPS, $4 - $5 A BAG... WORTH IT... TRUST ME.
