JW is the best

Due to somewhat disappointing weather for our week in Hawaii we had the chance to drive all around the island. This is the best location to be close to everything yet far enough away to not feel like you are in a big city. Staff was very helpful and fun. Lagoons offer a perfect spot to sun bath and swim. On the down side if you are interested in surfing you will need to drive to a different beach but this is a good short day trip to many of the beaches on the north shore of Waikiki. The room has a great view and great layout. But we we very disappointed by the digital room controls which seemed to take 3 second to respond to light switch changes.

Although it didn't come recommended, just tacos across the street has an excellent tequila selection and good Mexican food at a bit less of a price

I Will Pass The Next Time

We paid a significant amount to stay at this resort. It was not as advertised--no bathtub with spray jets, no plush Yukata robes, no bottled water for a fee, no pull-out sofa bed (there was nowhere to sit but one desk chair). The tub was badly stained, the shower was moldy, the in-room safe was broken and the centralized light control device was unplugged (as we discovered when we returned to the room after dark). Reinserting the device's plug required crawling behind the bed. Adding further to our discomfort was the power source for the daily filming of a network show at the adjacent resort. The enormous generator was located near our room and the electric hum was deafening. And yes, the parking fee increased six dollars per day upon check-in.

Fantastic

the hotel is located in vicinity of Disney resort, private lagune and exclusive beach access are great. Far from Waikiki and transportation cost a lot , so if you plan to party the cab both ways would be $170-180. Hotel has a shuttle, however last pick up time from Waikiki is 9:30 pm and no later. This location is perfect for honeymooners and ppl who enjoy the privacy greatly. For others- try to find something close to Honolulu. Amenities are great ,food is pricy if u dont have all inclusive option.

Christmas Holiday

The location is a fantastic place on the island , the hotel is beautiful. The cleanliness of the room could of been allot better done we had to call a couple of times for service. Also we could hear the noise of the Paradise Cove Show every night out our balcony. So we kept the door closed.

Nice Room, But..

Just about everything is overpriced in Hawaii, including this hotel. The room was very nice and so was the beach. Everything else, however, was either astronomically priced and below par. Paying 12 bucks for the internet per day, 30 something for parking was insulting. The drinks at the outdoor bar sucked (13 bucks), the few meals we had at the hotel were well below average. There was no service at the pool. Often our room was only partially cleaned sometimes. Interesting business model, just take the money.... If I were someone reading this, I would opt for somewhere else on the green side of the island. If you dont care about bleeding money, stay here, but dont eat at any of the hotels.

drive back east to the first exit on the highway and try the Brick Oven Pizza place. Dont eat at the Taco place near the hotel. They have no concept of first come first served.

A fine couple's getaway

Positives: Fine location, fine grounds and setting Negatives: Long line at checkin, housekeeping a problem, not a great place for snorkeling, the Disney resort next door can be noisly. Watch out for the timeshare sales pressure you will encounter. Avoid the Hawaiian Barbeque place across the street. .Keep an eye out for meal specials at the restaurants.
