Conveinient, quiet, clean
Centrally location made easy access to up-country towns and Haleakala crater. Many discount stores near by where we frugal travelers stock up on groceries. Cleaner and quieter than we expected. Very friendly helpful staff. Easy parking, adequate security. Would definatly prefer a condo in Kihei. Beach and snorkle areas were a little further away and a condo would be more spacious and comfortable but this worked well for a couple who didn't mind close quarters and didn't spend much time in room. We booked last minute and availability was a factor, this hotel made our trip possible and affordable.

Groceries much cheaper in Kahalui than other Maui towns, buy a cooler and stock up on lunch fixings. Best budget dinner for two- Little Ceasars Large pep pizza for $7.00 located in K-mart.

Disapointed
The only thing we liked about staying at this hotel was the short drive to a German bakery for fresh bread in the morning and to/from the airport. Otherwise, we should have paid a little more and stayed at a higher class in a different part of the island.

Great fun filled vacation
The location of the hotel was great, with minimal distance from all the town centres. Great service, (the room key didn't work initially, but they got it fixed immediately ) .. Overall, we had a great experience

Maui Beach is a $13 taxi trip
We checked in late due to flight delays and were welcomed by a stoney faced night manager that was all buisness. The room was small and on the ground floor facing the parking lot. Very clean and well maintained. In the morning we had a complementary breakfast before heading out to do tourist things. They shuttled us to the airport no cost, and we picked up a car rental. Parking is free. There is a clean beach and canoe club right beside the hotel's beach. Great for early risers. If you are early and lucky enough, you might even get to go out in one of the canoes with the club. The water is clear and usually very calm with lots of fish to see if you bring your snorkelling gear. Not the Hilton but very affordable for a couple of nights stay. I'd reccomend it for late or short stays. 5 minutes to the airport. Shopping across the street.

If you want ready made ribs, or picnic foods for the cooler, just a short walk across the street is the best Whole Food grocery store where you can stock up on daily supplies and eat what you want.

Better than what I expected
The location was not my favorite, but if you are planning to explore the island rather than spend the day at the Hotel, it is a good option. The price is fair and the rooms are very clean. I would stay there again.

Short Stay in Maui
You get what you pay for. It's a great place to stay if you just need a place to put your head down at the end of the day after doing all the touristy activities. Don't expect all the bells and whistles and you won't be disappointed. My girlfriend and I had no major complaints since we booked this at the last minute and got a good rate! A simple bed and breakfast at a great location to the many destinations around Maui.

a local person's perspective
WE stayed here on 3 different occasions in Dec ( 1 night, 2 night, and 3 night stays each week). 1st stay, standard room was ok but staff no aloha. 2nd stay, room was not very clean at check in but waitress nice. This last stay, everything was perfect. Room was clean, every staff member was friendly and helpful. Garden view rooms have partial view of beautiful ocean. Shower is very small. Refrig and safe in room. Carpet is dirty if you walk barefoot. Location is wonderful. walking distance to large malls, service station, eating places, and ideal base location for sight seeing. Great promo deal where free breakfast served daily. Full beds seemed smaller than normal full size beds. Secured entry to enter wings.

Go to Sam Sato Restaurant before 10:30 to beat the lunch crowd and enjoy a bowl of dry noodles and cheesburger deluxe sandwich early. My family also likes their stew, spareribs, and pancakes. The wait can be long if you go there closer to lunch time.
