Thank you Sheraton Waikiki!

We had a wonderful stay at Sheraton Waikiki! We requested a larger room, which wasn't available, so they upgraded up to a suite! Thank you, Chandra for that upgrade. We purchased the upgrade to the Club Lounge, which I would highly recommend. The views were fantastic. Sea turtles were visible from our balcony each evening. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Disturbed stay

The first night we got there after 7 hours of traveling, flight delays and that sort I just wanted to sleep. I went to my room after check in, was about to slide under the blankets when my leg felt damp. The sheets had a big circle of dampness that had seeped through all the way to the mattress. Ew. And the weirdest thing it was it wasn't on the first blanket. When I called to talk to guest services the woman practically hung up on me when I was explaining what happened. She wasn't even listening to what I was saying just rushing me off the phone saying "ok, ok, ok, ok, ok." It took an hour and a half/closer to two hours for them to fix the issue. Horrible customer service. Never coming back. Nobody at the hotel bothered to ask further when I said my stay was horrible while checking out. So disappointed.

Definitely recommend this hotel

Really enjoyed our stay here. Excellent location, a lot of shops and good restaurants nearby. Most important thing, love to have our own hotel beach and pool overlooking the ocean.. Good facilities within the hotel. Quick elevator, no long waiting. Day tours can be booked at Concierge. Free activities such as flower lei making, ukulele class, etc.

honeymoon

Stayed here in November for a few days, the staff were very helpful, friendly and polite and the location of the hotel was fantastic. The overall condition of the hotel however, was terrible. It is extremely outdated, unfortunately like many of the hotels in Waikiki. The room was large but very basic. Although it was kept clean the condition of the room and bathroom was very poor. Definitely not worth what they charge you for it.

Lacking in Customer Service - but excellent location!!

This hotel was in a fantastic location, close to everything you want, however, the service was borderline ordinary. Overall service in the hotel was poor, apart from the bell desk staff who were always friendly and helpful. The rest of the hotel staff should take some training from those guys!!! Did nothing to ruin the holiday though, Hawaii is a magical place and I will be returning again and again, however, I won't be staying at the Sheraton again.

Great location in Honolulu

I had a really great time staying at Sheraton Waikiki for last five days with my family. Although my room was located a little far from the elevator and the room itself wasn't that fancy and charming, it wasn't that bad and it was pretty spacious. What I really loved about the hotel was a beautiful swimming pool! We rented four beach chairs, which legs are inside the pool for USD 25 for each chair, and I think it's a pretty great deal considering you can spend the whole day there under the sun! There are many interesting shops around the lobby, and you must stop by 'the Cookie Corner,' where they give you sampling cookies every time you walk into the store! and don't forget to stick your ID in your pocket as they strictly check IDs at the bar no matter how old you look! Overall, it was a good hotel considering the price.

Sheraton Waikiki

Our flight to Honolulu was cancelled and we ended up checking in a day later. I rang to advise of the situation and for them to not give our room away and then when we did check in the staff were awesome! When we checked out, they didn't charge us for the resort fee that day, and we didn't even ask for it. That's service! I would def stay there again. The guy at the Avis counter was fantastic! He recommended where to go around the island, the Waimea waterfall, the good shrimp trucks to eat at and was pretty much our tour guide. Ha ha. We enjoyed our time here.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Waikele premium shopping outlets were great! We got the $10 return trip per person shuttle bus and killed it shopping! Michael Kors and Coach are so cheap there (especially when the AUD is good). The shuttle bus co. also gives you a coupon book which you def use. Saks 5th Avenue was fantastic as well- as long as you don't mind spending a bit of time there.

Awesome!

Great friendly and helpful staff! The resort charges are great compared to other hotels and what you get- a free drink voucher, unlimited Internet usage, 5 printing pages per day and 60 minutes of international calls per day - very handy!

The Cheesecake Factory- awesome!!! But get there by 5 - 5.15pm as it gets ridiculously busy!! Try the avocado egg roles (no eggs in it though). They look like fat spring rolls filled with avocado- it's a must!
