Decent
I was drawn to this hotel because of the kitchenette they offered. Unfortunately, I did know until I checked in to my room that not every room comes with a microwave, which is the biggest draw of a kitchenette. Also, the hotel is not in central Waikiki Beach area. It's not too far (maybe .6 or .7 miles away), but it's inconvenient to walk back and forth several times a day. A plus is that they offer free water during the day.

Business-Vacation Trip
This hotel is on the main street between downtown and Ala Moana Shopping center. It is quiet. Behind the hotel is the Fort DeRussey Army R and R park. Therefore, it is quiet and the park is beautiful. The hotel is located about 20 minutes by foot from the beach though it does have a small swimming pool. Shopping and dining are also a 15 - 20 minute walk. There is a small restaurant at the entrance which serves breakfast and lunch. All staff are courteous, friendly, and competent. Overall the hotel is a very good value.

The higher price restaurants will require reservations, but if you have not made one, try dining when they first open and usually they can accomodate you.

Great, affordable spot!
We really enjoyed our time at the Outrigger Luana. It is in a great location with stores nearby and a short walk to the beach. Everyone is extremely friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better place for the cost!

Best Birthday
pleasantly surprised
Well by some of the reviews we read, we were expecting below average. And with some of the comments I heard about the place from locals, seemed negative. But they must of done some changes, because we found it just right. We don't like fancy but must be clean. The gym and pool were better than most. It was a short and beautiful walk through the park to get to beach. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing I think I would have liked is a hot plate or microwave. They had towels for the beach. And we really appreciated that even after we checked out they let us use all the amenities and stored our luggage and had a lounge, tv and showers we could use while we waited for our plane. We also went to check out one of the other places that was listed for a little bit cheaper (it was the tower one) And boy was I glad we stayed where we stayed. That other one looked dirty and dark and cement like, very unpleasant. Well at least from the lobby.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with BF, for a much awaited vacation. Got the aloha- partial ocean view with 1 queen bed. Room is very spacious, clean and has everything that we need. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is very ideal since it's not in the middle of the hustle and bustle or Waikiki, but just 5 minute walk and you're there. This is my 2nd time to stay here, and will definitely stay here again.

Pleasant surprise
I was completely surprised by this hotel. Check-in was fast. The room looked just like the photograph. It was clean, the kitchen was stocked with whatever materials I would need to cook a meal, if need be. The view of the ocean and city, from the tenth floor was amazing. I'm big on cleanliness and I can say the bathroom definitely passed my standards. The staff came by daily to clean and had no issue taking request. The pool was small, but I didn't come here for that. It's only a 10 minute walk (if that) to the beach. Right outside of the hotel is Protea, a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch only. Take in or grab something to go. Parking was $25 a night ouch, but my boyfriend was able to leave iPods in the car and not worry. The location was great! Both malls on either side. Restaurants. Night life. Best thing...can't here a thing in the room! I'm DEFINITELY staying there again!
