The Ilikai Hotel & Suites is a classic oceanfront hotel situated on the Ala Wai Yacht Marina at the edge of Waikiki and just a short stroll to Ala Moana Shopping Center and 2 blocks to the Hawaii Convention Center. Internationally-recognized as the famous opening shot of Hawaii Five-O with Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett standing on the penthouse balcony overlooking Waikiki Beach, the hotel is truly a Waikiki landmark. Each guest room and suite features extra spacious accommodations with large lanais offering fabulous views. The hotel walkway from the lobby leads to the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and beach. Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness room, meeting rooms, rooftop restaurant and more.

We are excited to announce that we will be adding a new second floor swimming pool and sundeck (see day/night renderings below). Expected completion date is spring of 2016. This will be available for hotel guest use in addition to the existing main lobby level pool. While there is some light audible work currently taking place, limited to Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, we do not anticipate any disruption or inconvenience to guests during their stays. The existing main lobby level pool will be unaffected and will remain available for guests use.

All Aqua Hospitality managed hotels and resorts are non-smoking.

Trip with the wife

Overall experience was great. We originally had a mountain view room but was upgraded to an ocean view room with no extra charge nor any expectations too. Only complaint we have is we didn't receive fresh towels in our bathroom daily. We stayed for 5 nights and we only received new towels on our 3rd and last night. And one of the nights we returned from touristing, we came back to a cockroach in the kitchen. To me it honestly wasn't a big deal, but my wife was not having it. I convinced her it wasn't a problem. Sometimes it happens.

Satisfactory

The hotel staff was very friendly. The concierge desk showed business hours from 8am-6pm but a staff member was not always available during those hours. Overall we did receive what we paid for.

Save your money. The Circle Island Tour is not worth it. Boat rides and the PCC are more bang for the buck.

Shabby chique.

The Ilikai lost it's best feature when they sold off much of the property including a gorgeous pool. The open air lobby is still lovely and you won't find more spacious accommodations in Waikiki, but our room was overdue for some remodeling. The bed was very comfortable. Great harbor view.

Great place to stay when on Oahu

We traveled all over Oahu while there. Beaches on north and east shore are fabulous. Parking was expensive ($18/day) but the staff parking cars were absolutely great...extremely service oriented. Walking access to Waikiki was great...both for eating and going to the beach. Price was very reasonable for the accomodations provided. Had an excellent stay!

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Visit the entire Island if in Oahu for more than a couple days. There is much more to Oahu than Waikiki. You can get almost anywhere on the Island in about an hour or less.

Very Awesome Vacation

The location is perfect with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu Harbor, and the beach. The hotel was quiet, beautiful and was the most reasonably priced hotel and restaurant along Wakiki Beach.

Ilikai- good base

The location is great next to the Ala Moana mall (in case you forget something), close to an H1 entry and on the edge of the busiest parts of Waikiki. It was a great launching pad to explore every coast of the island. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but when we were the service was great. The maid was great and didn't take towels you had hung to keep (and be green:) The bed was big, comfy and the feather pillows were awesome. The valet was awesomely fast and skilled at handling the large influxes. The hotel bar overlooked the beach, was well priced and the bar tenders never let your drink be empty (even water).

Great hotel for the price

I was vacationing in Oahu to attend a wedding. Myself and a friend stayed at the Ilikai hotel for 5 days and we were very impressed with the quality of the room considering the low low rate the we got for it. I've stayed in a grimey hotel before and this definitely wasn't grimey. I would stay here again. Cons - Right when we got in the room, we were excited that the room already had a mini fridge and microwave in case we wanted to store/heat food up. The gross thing was that the cleaning person never checked the fridge from the last visitors stay. Luckily it was wrapped up in mcD's bags so we didn't look inside to see the disgusting food. I did not like the fact that the hotel did not have it's own parking structure for self parking. Valet rate was $18/day AND you tip everytime you need them to retrieve the car. The parking meters in the back aren't very reliable because the machine does not always print out the receipt to put on your dashboard. I put a note on my dashboard saying I paid this amount for that many hours at this time and I still got a $40 citation ticket. Many others got a ticket also and we all called to complain to the parking meter company. They claimed if we mail in the receipt stating "void per ___" that they would waive the fee. The hotel is a few blocks away from the main waikiki beach area where all the stores and restaurants are. It's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle but it would've been more convenient to be in the center of it all rather than having to taxi/drive/walk there.

Wear walking shoes and bug repellent when hiking. I got mosquito bites like crazy. I couldn't even enjoy tanning on the beach because of the huge itchy bug bites all over me.

Ahhhhh...

From beginning to last, the staff was friendly and so helpful. Also, we were pleasantly surprised with a continental breakfast every morning. The view was good, and the room was comfortable.
