Nice hotel room, a bit smaller but definitely worth upgrading to ocean view. Staff were all very nice and helpful. Excellent continental breakfast and Gallery food available 24 hr. Location is great...at end of Waikiki but a block from beach is no problem, great to walk all over.....great restaurants nearby. Wi-fi was a pain as it kept kicking us off the network. Don't ask to check out a few hours late as the charge is absolutely outrageous.....just a few hours...$110....ha! Overall we were very pleased and enjoyed our stay and would return again.

most hotels are within a block or 2 from the beach, you do not need to pay for beachfront, but get an oceanview upgrade....it is worth it!

Great Time at Waikiki
Very helpful staff. Answered questions throughout our trip. Upon checking in clerk gave tour of facility. On our last day, we had a late flight, they held our luggage, so we could spend most of the day shopping and visiting the zoo and aquarium. They also arranged a cab to get us to the airport. We used the Concierge to help plan some tours, however I would use the Web - it’s cheaper, remember he is paid to sell certain packages. While the hotel does not have a restaurant, their grab and go is handy, but spendy. The beach is a short walk; bus, trolley and cabs are just outside the door. No need to rent a car, besides the traffic is horrible. Breakfasts are great. Warning, there are hungry pigeons on the island so don’t walk away from your food. There are great restaurants within walking distance. Strongly recommend the Tiki restaurant second floor of the Ashton (live music) also Dukes, Cheesecake Factory and Jimmy Buffets, to mention a few. Tons of shops all within walking distance of Hyatt Place. You can rent almost anything you want on the beach…. Bogie boards, surf boards, lounge chairs and umbrellas. Warning there are some “pan handlers” and “homeless” along Waikiki, but also some great entertainers.

Don't worry about the view from your room - If you want to see the beach from your room, watch it on TV. We use the room for sleeping and changing. You are right in the middle of day & night life on Waikiki, don't miss it.

Great hotel for the money!
Stayed at the Hyatt Place for 2 nights while on our Honeymoon. Room was a little small, but not cramped. Perfect for a place to sleep while you go on adventures around Waikiki and O'ahu.

Great place on Waikiki!
The Hyatt Place was a great place to stay on Waikiki! My wife and I went for our honeymoon and were very impressed by the hotel and the service we received! Everyone there was super friendly and very eager to help! They had free breakfast every morning and it was some of the best hotel breakfast I've had! They switched it up every day and it was always top quality! I will say the only drawback was that our "ocean view" was obstructed a bit by a few other buildings, as the hotel isn't actually right on the beach. But don't let this stop you, as there are tons of great beaches only a few blocks away!

Great vacation
We went for 7 day vacation and this hotel was at a great price compared to the other ones in the area. The ocean front view is truly ocean front, not from the side. The room was a bit small but we didn't spend too much time in it anyways, since we were out most of the time. The staff was very courteous, and made our stay even more enjoyable. The thing I loved the most was the breakfast on the terrace. Spectacular weather, great view, and nice food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great beach location
The staff helped me whenever I needed anything. The hotel was very clean. Great location a block and a half from Waikiki Beach (the quieter end of Waikiki near the Honolulu Zoo). It took some time, but I actually walked from the hotel to Diamond Head to hike up to the top. The free hot breakfast was good, generally speaking. I really liked the oatmeal, and it was great to have it with fresh pineapple. Breakfast started at 6:30 am, so it was really nice to be able to have breakfast early and then head out to have fun for the rest of the day. Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations for cleanliness of the property, modern furniture/decor, and friendliness of the staff. Great experience!

Short walk from hotel
Walk up to Kuhio (1/2 block walking away from the ocean) to find great food at more reasonable prices than on Kalakaua (which is along the water and therefore much less reasonable).

Room
The hotel was really nice and clean. The only thing that we didn't like was that our room was smaller than we're use too staying in when we stay at the Hyatt Place. We usually have a living room area with a couch and this just had a bed and a chair.

Use valet parking first night and then check out the other options. $28 a day is a little pricey but worth it for short stays.
