Great kept secret

The staff was very courteous, the rooms were very clean and the ocean view was fantastic. The decor in the room was beautiful but I don't recommend for active kids. Great for couples who seek a romantic stay.Only a block from the beach and lots of good reastraunts near by. We definetly will be staying here again.

Great view of Waikiki Beach

My husband & I spent close to a week for our honeymoon, & honestly, it was great for the first 3 days, but Waikiki is definitely geared towards for singles and families. We wanted to relax & enjoy more nature scenes, but you need to drive out to be able to explore the beauty of Oahu. Also, be cautious of the pricing within the hotel...it is beyond expensive! Mac 24/7 has great food, but you will pay on the avearge of at least $80 + gratuity & beverages. Be prepared to pay $25/day for the parking garage as well. Overall, we had a great time, but not expecting the outrageous pricing.

Walk out on SW side of Kuhio , and you will find more local spots to have lunch & dinner that's more reasonably priced.

Good Hotel

Good location. Not much of an atmosphere. Overall clean, comfortable and convenient for beach and restaurants/shops. A little on the expensive side in respect of the room rates. Pool area could do with an upgrade. Cannot comment on the food, as we did not eat in the hotel.

The Cheesecake Factory - to avoid a wait of less than one hour for a table, ensure that you arrive early around 17.45 and you should only have to wait approximately 35 to 40 minutes.

"Great Place to Stay"

We stayed there for 12 nights May 31-June 12, 2012, Great location easy walk to the Waikiki Beach, shops, the Zoo and other Waikiki attractions. We had a city view room over looking a lovely court yard. The beds are clean and OH so very comfortable!! Huge flat screen TV. Bathroom is big; closet is in the bathroom; comes with fridge, coffee, safe, iron, hair dryer, etc. The room is clean; maid comes daily to change sheets, provide clean towels, and other amenities. The staff was very helpful and courteous. A true spirit of Aloha. The pool is nice, but windy as it is high on the 10th floor. The hotel allows you to take beach towels out for the day which was really great. They have a 24 hr restuarant "MAC 24/7" we didn't eat there it was too a little too pricey. Drawbacks - Valet parking is $25 daily with unlimited in and out. In room Wi-Fi is $10 a day but free in the pool and lounge area's. I'd stay here again

Great time!

Hi - the hotel was in a great location - a block from the beach - we had great views of the ocean. The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant is open 24/7 - the breakfast was great - held you for the whole day! Chairs and umbrella rentals at the beach are expensive - $5/hour each. We went to Walmart and bought some inexpensive beach chairs and a little umbrella - worked just fine and we gave it to someone else when we left. Park across the street at the Banyan if you rent a car - $72 for the week instead of $25 a night. - well worth it. Weather was perfect - 84 during the day - 70 at night and always a breeze. Loved everything about it. The ABC stores are everywhere - you can buy momentos, alcohol (we had cocktails on our balcony every night before dinner) snacks - anything you need and they are on every block. Great, great time, can't wait to go back!

Great restaurants included Duke's - we were there twice because it was so good and fairly reasonable by Hawaii pricing standards. The Moana Surfrider Beachouse restaurant is outstanding if you want a special, ( and expensive, but worth it) meal. Atlantic Grill was the only restaurant we were not impressed with - - I would not return. Meal came out while we were eating our salad, fish was way undercooked, had to send it back. Jimmy Buffet's was also very good.

Anniversary/wedding

Came for our anniversary and sons wedding. Booked king bed ocean view, got 2 twin beds and put on waiting list for 5days for king which never happened. Had to call house keeping twice for T.P as they forgot to leave second roll, forgot to replace glasses daily, did not come to make up room until 4 pm daily except one day which we turned them away at 5pm. Picture of hotel deceiving it is actually about a qtr mile away from beach area. Does not show highway in front of church nor the huge parking lot behind the church across the street from hotel

THE ONLY WAY TO ATTEND A WEDDING IN WAIKIKI

Beautiful hotel, close to Waikiki Beach, the Honolulu Zoo, the Honolulu Aquarium, Kapiolani Park (jog, walk, see soccer games). The front desk clerk gave us a GREAT room-29th floor/ocean view! we could see the surfers waiting for the sets, many colorful saiboats, and cruise ships. we had a family wedding to attend, in the same hotel, and instead of getting up early, getting ready, and driving into town we decided to stay at the hotel the night before the wedding. And we had absolutely NO WORRIES on the wedding night when we had drinks...just "drove" the elevator up to our beautiful room! EVERYONE-valet, front desk, banquet employees, and housekeeping were very FRIENDLY and accommodating. I am certain that the tourist visiting our lovely islands would not regret staying here.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

shop in Waikiki if you want, but every store that you see in Waikiki is at Ala Moana Shopping Center (Hawaii's largest shopping center) which is near by. catch the bus or a shuttle. i think that the prices may be a little less than in Waikiki.

fantastic getaway

This has been the best hotel experience I have recieved ever. The rooms are clean!! Great bathroom!! I loooved the bathroom. Beds are super comfortable. The pillows r amazing!!!!! We had a city view room... We got the fourth floor! Our view was to the city but most of it to the garden at the hotel with the fish fountain. At night when I would wake up I would look out and see the amazing palm trees nd the moon!,plus the noise of the water from the fish fountain! I loved it! We had a bit of problem with the t.v, we called and got it fixed right away. Very friendly staff. I will go back to this same hotel in a few months! Mahalo!!!!
