Waikiki beachfront wonderland

Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is Waikiki's only true resort destination, with 22 oceanfront acres offering the perfect mix of exceptional resort accommodations and classic Hawaiian hospitality. Sink into the widest stretch of white sand in Waikiki: a serene beachfront lagoon, lush tropical gardens with exotic wildlife and cascading waterfalls, majestic views of Diamond Head and stunning sunsets -- plus more than 18 restaurants and lounges, 90 shops and services, a spa and much more.

Highlights

  • Marvel at the beachfront Paradise Pool with Waikiki's longest waterslide or wade in a real oceanfront lagoon
  • Poolside Polynesian revue and free beachfront fireworks show every Friday night
  • Connect kids with Camp Penguin, offering on-property activities and offsite adventures
Location

The resort spreads out along the western edge of Waikiki beach, where the sand is widest and the water shallow and safe for kids. Take the beachfront boardwalk to the U.S. Army Museum, a few minutes away, or walk another few minutes to the heart of Waikiki. In the other direction, Hawaii's largest shopping center, Ala Moana, is an easy 15-minute stroll.

Rooms
Five graceful towers ring the resort with a total of nearly 3,000 rooms and plenty of city, mountain and ocean views. Each tower is unique, but all feature bright, contemporary rooms with private balcony, Hilton Serenity Collection Bed and Bedding, high-speed internet access (fees apply), television enabled for various entertainment modes, and refrigerator. Select towers feature their own swimming pools and sundecks.
Dining

Choose from 18 dining and bar options. Tropics Bar & Grill is one of Waikiki's best new beachfront hangouts, with fresh Island dishes, live musicians and sinful sunset views. Lappert's offers Hawaii's best ice cream (must-try flavor: Kauai Pie). The Waikiki Starlight Luau is an all-evening adventure held under the stars.

Recreation

  • Paradise Pool, 10,000 square feet of slides and swimming
  • Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, a 5-acre saltwater lagoon
  • Camp Penguin, a day camp for kids ages 5-12
  • The offshore Atlantis Submarine, diving to 120 feet for views of reef life
  • Spirit of Aloha Catamaran, offering a variety of sailing adventures

Nice hotel

We just got back and had a blast the whole time we were there. Pools are beautiful with attentive wait staff. Right on the beach too! Not too many children in mid May when we went. Beat the summer crowd which was nice.

Very happy with Hilton Hawaiian Village

Our partial ocean view room was beautiful. Comfortable beds and nice shower/bath combination. The second floor pool and hot tub in our tower have a great view of the ocean and my daughter enjoyed swimming there. Proximity to Ala Moana shopping center and Ward center was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

A ideal place

Just about everything was perfect, and full of life. There's lot of stores, places to eat, swimming pools, it's by the beach, and there was multiple hotels. Service was awesome, the place get pretty active at night around the Tapa Tower because there's an outside bar there, and it's a great place to go if you want to vacation there. Everything in Waikiki is pricey, but in my opinion, going to the Hilton Hawaiian Village was worth it.

Average. Very busy.

This Hilton might be great for a business retreat, but was overly crowded with huge lines just to check in.

Average Beachside

This was our second stay, and was a bit less impressive than the first. The room was worn and in need of updating or at least maintenance, though it was very clean and comfortable (great beds!). The view was out at other buildings (first time we had an ocean view) and over a bar that was quite noisy. We took an excursion, and found the bus/pickup area was quite confusing, resulting in us missing our first reservation. The bar was super, though the luau food was less than expected (we had been to a similar experience in Tahiti years ago that was superb). It was standard American fare, and of standard American quality. I would have paid more for a better menu with more historically accurate food choices. And the drinks were weak. As a suggestion, perhaps adults without kids should be informed the luau is more for families with young kids, giving the older adults another similar option? Please note I love Hilton hotels and search them out over other brands. And the employees were exceptional. We were just in the wrong location for two mature adults. Oh, and I missed the lovely coconut-scented toiletries that you used to put out ~ 1.5 years ago. I absolutely loved them.

Luau is meant for families. Mature adults may want to look for another option. Hawaiian Village's bar has delicious cocktails, and at reduced prices for happy hour. Also the bartenders are super-nice.
