Nice place

The hotel was nice. It is not anything fancy or special, but it gets the job done. The room was fairly small, but was clean. The Hotel is in a very nice location, close to the convention center and the beach. The low price made it absolutely worth it.

A Tired Hotel

Was actually a condo complex trying to act like a hotel. Easy to check in but not so easy to get into my room. The security card reader in the elevator and room was terrible and didn't read the room key well. Took many trips to front desk to get it resolved and learn the tricks to getting the readers to work. Hotel did not have WiFi available but said to use the bar/club below the hotel......accept it had load band playing music. 21st century hotels need WiFi. Parking was ridiculous at $20/day and no available "on street" parking. Honolulu is famous for it's high parking violation fines and towing charges so only option is using the over priced parking lot at the hotel. Great location. The building water supply was going to be turned off the morning I left for 4 hrs so I was glad I was leaving.

In the heart of Waikiki!

The location was perfect! It is within walking distance of the Ala Moana shopping center and Waikiki Beach. The room it self is a bit outdated (particularly the TV and lack of iron) aside from that it was a decent place to just sleep. I stayed for a week and would definitely consider booking on my next vacation.

Just a place to sleep, Nothing more

This place is good if you just want a room and nothing more. The hotel consists of just 50 rooms in the building. The rest of the building is rented to permanent residents and let's just say some of them leave something to be desired. Security seemed to be constantly checking on things in the building and I heard talk of domestic violence. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. You can get free Wi-Fi in the lobby from the bar if it works. It did not for me. You can get a modem to take to the room for $7 per day if one is available. I had to wait for a day to get one. There are 3 bars in the hotel that stay open till 4 AM so if you are an early riser expect lots of durnken drama in the lobby from 4-5 AM.Parking at the hotel is $20 per day and you must pay cash. Hotel claims to be renovated but I did not see it other than an LED lighting upgrade in progress and the light fixture in the room had dust hanging from it so cleanliness was not the best. I would suggest you find another hotel.

Decent getaway for the price and location

The carpet in room was dirty and looked to be molded due to prior wetting. Definitely needs replacement. The location allow us to do a little walking along Waikiki's two main streets to get to the beach and from nearby shops. This place is worth it if you're on a budget, but I would strongly suggest other hotels if you have a little extra cash.

There is a reason for only 2 stars

Front desk unfriendly and unaccommodating. Didn't have change. Wouldn't consider an hour extension on checkout without charging a fee. Didn't have pool towels...gave me a regular room towel. Will stay here again if no other hotels available at reasonable price.

Hawaii visit

I guess it was a good price for Ohau, but there were no extras without an additional charge (internet, pool towels, parking, morning tea or coffee). Clean drinking glasses were not provided; the maid just rinsed them out. If we visit Ohau again, I would not stay there.
