Breakfast never came!

When I checked in, they told me they discontinued their complimentary breakfast but that I found get a breakfast basket delivered to my room. I followed up twice and three days passed but it never came! Other than that, hotel is 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach and just what you need for a simple stay: balcony, mini fridge, couple burners to cook.

Comfortable, Convenient

Diamond Head side of Waikiki near park, zoo, aquarium. Easy access to the road in & out of Waikiki. 2 blocks from the beach. No view, but why hang out in the room. If you want a quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient room near the action, (not in it), this is the place. Parking was pricey, ($20) you can try parking lots or stick to Waikiki and just walk. Besides, the price is right even with the parking fee added.

EWA check it out before you stay

The staff was Great. The hotel was not upto date and i had a roach crowling on my pillow the first morning. (Yes this hotel have Roaches) The beds are worn out the elevator is old and the cost for parking is $15 - $20 per night. You can park in the zoo parking lot or on street side you have to walk to the hotel or pay. The room had 2 twin beds.

OK hotel in a great location

I stayed at this place with my 3 kids (ages 1, 5 and 7) during a 1 1/2 day layover between Honolulu and Kauai to meet up with family. The hotel is older and located on a back street, but is in decent shape, feels secure, and comfortable enough. It is a 5-10 minute walk to Waikiki beach, the zoo, and shops and restaurants--perfect for our young travelers. Continental breakfast was hard boiled eggs and toast/doughnuts + tea/coffee/bitter OJ, but kept us from having to venture out for breakfast. The room was actually a small suite with a small kitchenette with a sink, 2 burners, and a fridge (no cooking implements or utensils). Overall I felt this was a decent value for Waikiki and would stay here again. The thing that really irritated me about this place were the small daily fees if you wanted anything extra for your room - a microwave, a portable crib, even the locksafe in the closet and the signs everywhere about how much they would charge you if you soiled the sheets too heavily or the AC remote traveled off. Felt it was poor customer service and poor show of hospitality. Welcome to EWA Hotel, but don't ask for anything special or we'll charge you! Not what I'm used to from other hotels.

Good location in Waikiki

If you cannot afford to stay right on the beach with a water view, this was the next best location. We like this Diamond Head side of Waikiki with Queens and San Souci beaches within short walking distance. The staff was cordial and helpful. Beds extremely comfortable. Rooms were a bit run down, but clean with plenty of space. The main issue was the daily construction noise directly across the street, which interfered with our daily relaxation time, however management told us this would end by late March. Continental breakfast could have been better with the mere addition of fruit.

Pro Bowl weekend

The hotel was nice enough and the front desk staff courteous and friendly. A little tricky to drive to but easy enough once you figure out the one ways. Located right at the end of the main drag in Waikiki was probably it's best feature. And although there are no good view units, we weren't in our unit much anyways. A lot disappointed that while the hotel offered no airport shuttle it was never mentioned at any point before we got there that parking our rental car in the small garage they have was 15 dollars a day.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

less than 2 blocks from Kalakaua Ave. and Kapalulu. Right at the end of the strip. Beach one way, shopping and restaurants the other.

Cozy Getaway

We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and checking in was easy. Parking was an additional $15.00 per day and on first come, first served basis due to inadequate parking stalls. We had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette, two balconies, which provided ample space for up to three people. But the rooms were a little outdated but comfortable. There was only one elevator throughout which caused a lot of inconvenience especially during the morning hours while housekeeping were on the floors because of the minutes waiting to get the elevator. So taking the stairs would be the only other option. There was another hotel directly across being remodeled so sleeping in was problematic with all the construction noise. But a good stay nonetheless.
