Blending trendy design with authentic Polynesian touches and top-of-the-line amenities, the Aqua brand is a modern answer to the traditional Hawaiian experience. First founded in 2001, Aqua Hotels & Resorts is now home to more than 15 one-of-a-kind properties on four Hawaiian Islands, including the smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai, and an all-suite hotel in Guam. Like all Aqua properties, Honolulu's Aqua Palms Waikiki is a vibrant hotel with a uniquely Hawaiian feel and a contemporary sensibility. Start your day in paradise with a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee - a local blend from the Big Island - while taking in beautiful views of Diamond Head, the Pacific Ocean or the tropical city landscape. After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the downstairs IHOP restaurant, head outside to explore the city, or schedule a rejuvenating in-room lomi lomi massage.

Just right!

it was my very first time at the Aqua Palms & Spa; the hotel was located only 1 block away from the main beach and restaurants (no restaurant in the hotel) which was perfect... The hotel did not look much from the outside, but as you entered the staff was very friendly and outgoing making sure that you were taken care of in a timely manner. The greeting was very friendly and informative. The only set back was that the check in time is 3pm; very different from other boutique hotels I stayed at before: normal check in times from other hotels varied from 11am to 1pm making the 3pm check in time a little late and inconvenient. The entrance was very well kept and clean, but the room itself had signs of 'wear and tear' that could've easily been fixed making the room look more like an 'upscale' boutique hotel... The beddings were minimal and unattractive, looking cheap! The housecleaning was desirable, mostly in the bathroom were the bath tub was not cleaned on a regular basis as well as for the marble floors where greasy shoe prints were found on a regular basis. All in all, I was very satisfied and happy with the hotel and the amenities; but the upkeeps and cleanliness of the room could use some improvements and more attention to details.

Flexibility and it's importance

Aqua Palms was very understanding about our extremely tight schedule, not to mention the fact that we were the classic definition of 'tourist'. On the morning we were to be checking out, we found ourselves lost on the bus system about 45 minutes from the Hotel. By the time we managed to find our way back through the maze of buses, we were 20 minutes late to check out (mind you, bags were still not packed). We explained the situation to the concierge, and they were very sweet. They gave us the extra time needed to load up, and stored our bags for us so we could shop a bit more locally (women tend to do that, yes?) before boarding the cruise ship. I would most definitely choose them again

Comfortable and affordable

The hotel is well located and not overwhelming in size. It is family friendly. The continental breakfast was acceptable. The staff were really helpful and friendly. My wife and I stayed there two weeks and would not hesitate to recommend it. In fact, I already have recommended it.

The greater Honolulu/Waikiki bus system, called The Bus is inexpensive ($2), clean, reliable and will take a passenger all over Oahu.

An extraordinary find

The staff will walk on water for you. The location is perfect, right on the trolley and bus lines across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and 2 blocks from a beach that is not nearly as crowded as Waikiki. There is a handkerchief pool, kept glisteningly clean and an exercise room, neither of which we used much. The Wailana Cafe in the same block serves pretty good food and there are several other restaurants in the immediate area. The room has frig and microwave and coffee maker. If you want extra anything, just ask. There is always coffee and fruit free in the lobby and the latest newspaper. I cannot think of a single fault in our stay here.

Waikiki Aquarium is very nice. Buy a Waikiki trolley pass and you can get to many places. Pink is shopping trolley, Green up to Diamond Head and Red to Chinatown area. DFS is central terminal. Pretty good tours on the Green and Red and can off and on. Ala Moana is a must see and Chinatown for fresh veggies and cheap food.

great location

The Aqua Palm's and Spa was very comfortable and had everything for the traveler. Location is very good -- it was close to the beach and Ala Moana Shopping Center. There a few restaurants very close to the hotel. I wish will be more there. Otherwise since my last trip I had seen a big improvement in a room decoration: furniture was new, rooms had closets and LCD TV. Also Hotel staff was very nice and friendly. I already recommend it to a few friends ,and if I come to Honolulu I will be staying there again.

excellent!

The hotel was in a perfect location-walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on Waikiki Beach, they gave us a free upgrade without us asking (view of the beach and Diamond Head), the room was beautiful, the bathroom was very clean and had a great high pressure steaming hot shower, one of the walls was all glass made of floor to ceiling glass doors that opened up completely, as soon as you open them, the breeze from the beach fills the room, it was a wonderful experience! We waited until the last minute to book and got an awesome-unbelievable deal!

Very Friendly

The Aqua Palms was very comfortable and conveniant to several good restaurants and within walking distance to beach.Liked the fact there was coffee, microwave, and refrigerator in room. Room was larger than I expected. The only downside was the $15.00 a day parking fee.

Off the Waikiki heavy traffic

The rooms are nice. The cost and atmosphere reflect the Aloha spirit of quieter days gone by. The rooms have been updated to include mini food prep areas yet the over the top Waikiki construction blocks most views of the mountains and ocean, you can still catch glimpses between the high rise hotels that surround the entire area. You can take an early walk or run before the buzz of the seasonal tourists begins each day along the stretches of resort hotels. The Aqua Plams is convienient to Ala Moana Park and shopping center, the marina, Kalakaua Ave, the beach and the Ala Wai; truly the best of areas if you want to keep your sanity while enjoying the trade winds.

Good Value

The Aqua Palms was a great value hotel. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and courtesy. The room was a good size and the refreg and micro really came in handy. The hotel is several blocks from the Wakki Beach, but the walking is good for you. We will return and stay here again in the near future.....
