Iconic harbor-front hotel on the edge of Waikiki
The Waikiki landmark, Ilikai may look familiar. The iconic hotel is featured in the opening of the original Hawaii Five-0 series. Look out across the beach and lagoon, cityscape and mountains or sailboat harbor from the hotel's spacious rooms, some of which have full kitchens. Situated on the edge of Waikiki, take a short walk to local restaurants and bars, Hawaii's largest shopping mall, spacious beach parks and the Hawaii Convention Center.
Highlights
- Accommodations with a full kitchen available
- Exotic views of the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon from oceanfront rooms
- 24-hour fitness center and outdoor swimming pool with sundeck
Location
The Ilikai's location is perfect for travelers looking for something beyond the Waikiki experience. Situated on the western edge of the district a few steps from Waikiki Beach and a short walk to Waikiki's best shopping and dining, you can also walk to Ala Moana Center, Hawaii's largest shopping mall and unofficial town square. The vast Ala Moana Beach Park and the Hawaii Convention Center can also be reached on foot.
Rooms
In space-starved Waikiki, Ilikai offers rare oversized guest rooms starting at 600 square feet. A two-bedroom suite offers nearly 1,200 square feet. Many of the rooms have full kitchens and all feature a balcony, plus free high-speed Internet access. Rooms on the ocean side of the hotel have stunning views of the beach, lagoon and sailboat harbor.
Dining
Take advantage of the hotel's partnership with Island Grocery Service and have your groceries waiting in your kitchen upon arrival. Dine 30 floors up at Sarento's, one of Waikiki's best Italian restaurants for dinner. A block away, the modest diner, Wailana Coffee House, is a budget-friendly favoriteRecreation

Save your money. The Circle Island Tour is not worth it. Boat rides and the PCC are more bang for the buck.

Excellent couples getaway
We stayed for 7 nights at the Ilikai and it was a great experience. We were upgraded to an ocean view room for the first 2 nights and had a mountain view room for the last 5 nights. The views were great and room spotless. The comments about the rooms being large are absolutely true, both rooms we stayed at huge. The pool is rather small but why go to the pool when you have the Hilton lagoon right outside. One down side about the location is that it is not central to Waikiki nightlife, it's about a 10-15min walk to central Waikiki, that or you can take a trolley for 2 dollars to get you there. For some this may be a plus, since this area is a little quieter. The staff at the Ilikai are also very friendly, overall a great stay.

Not worth the money!!!!
Booked this hotel w/ the roundtrip HA package from Aug 3 thru Aug 7. The location is great as it is near everything and within walking distance of the beach. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing going for this hotel. First off, if you arrive earlier than 3:00 pm you might have to wait to check in. The staff did not have our room ready and we arrived around 12:30 pm. When we finally checked in, our room was facing the 'mountain view' so you hear a LOT of traffic even with the windows shut. The bathroom was disgusting as you can see mold growing from the walls. The WIFI did not work the ENTIRE time we stayed there, valet parking is $25/day if you rent a car and to top it all off -- the elevator was down the day we were leaving. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!!!!!!

Family getaway
We loved it. For the price and the feel. Family stayed next door at Hilton and paid twice as much, but you didn't feel you were on a tropical island. Staff was great and fast! I reviewed hotels, choose this even though people said decor was dated...but my family agreed, we wanted something different from the mainland...fireworks at lagoon, they had hula dancers and music on Friday. Beach is not crowded as it was about a mile down! You get your monies worth!!

Spacious room, great location for getting to downtown
This was a business trip with lots of meetings downtown. This end of Waikiki makes getting to downtown much easier than from the other end. Also convenient to the Ala Moana shopping center. The room was very spacious, with a microwave and small refrigerator, in addition to a coffee pot.
