New hotel with classy, modern suites in the downtown historic district
Recently opened in 2009, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel sits on the west side of the historic district in downtown Savannah, just steps from the Savannah Civic Center. Visitors can walk from the hotel to many of the attractions in downtown Savannah. All the rooms at this new property are one-bedroom suites--50 percent larger than average hotel rooms--decorated in a modern style with oversize glass showers and flat-screen TVs. Guests can use computers in the business center or go online in their rooms with free Wi-Fi access.

Modern, clean, and big rooms
I am not normally a fan of modern hotels, especially in a historic district. SpringHill Suites made me rethink my automatic distaste. Simple lines, clean, very large rooms, nice staff, and good value. We stayed because our flight was cancelled. For almost less than half what we paid for staying at an upscale B&B, SpringHill was a much better value. It is very near City Market, so it had a good location. If not for our sudden change of plans, I likely would have never stayed here. Needless to say, it would have been my loss.

Go to Mrs. Wilke's for lunch. It is worth the wait. Over 30 different dishes to try - you won't leave hungry or disappointed.

perfect 1st anniversary weekend!
The staff was very accomodating letting us check in several hours early. The room was very clean. Good location. Breakfast was great and also had healthy selections. The pool and hot tub were very nice and the hot tub was actually hot! Will definitely stay there again!

Fun, relaxing friends getaway
It was the perfect location for doing the things that we had planned. It was within a short walk to two trolley stops. The staff was very helpful in giving us directions for the shortest walking routes to restaurants and different places that we were interested in seeing. This was very much appreciated because we only had one and a half days in Savannah.

Best value in Savannah!
Springhill Suites is the most comfortable and elegant hotel we have experienced as a family. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and beauttiful. Our room was ready when promised and the all the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful, offering suggestions and tips of great places to visit while staying in Savannah. The complimentary hot breakfast offered a great variety of items from bagels to ham and eggs. We will definitely stay here again!

Short drive from hotel
To experience Savannah to its fullest, we highly recommend the Bonaventure Cemetary tour or possibly a ghost tour.

No sleep for the tired
Not worth the money!
We were placed in a room which had large flags right outside the window. In the evening the wind started to blow and the flags clanged and made a great racket as they were on metal chains. At 11:30 in the evening we had to change rooms. The receptionist told us she has heard complaints about the noise before. One would think they would remove the problem. Definitely would not stay there again.

Nice hotel
Nice hotel, but a little pricey for Savannah. Must have been because it was close to St. Patrick's day.

Great place to start and finish your day
We were warmly greeted by the parking attendants and everyone else as well. The room was nice sized, clean and up to date. A variety of foods were offered for breakfast which should please most folks. We were close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Bed was very comfortable and minimal noise for being downtown.

Spacious room, nice/clean
Our room was spacious, had a desk and sitting area too. Bathroom was clean and new. Everything works. Location of the hotel is very convenient. Close to restaurants and shopping. Staff were friendly. The only thing we were not too happy about was, we asked for a non-smoking room. But the room smelled like cigarettes.
