Anniversary visit to Savannah
We pulled up to the hotel in our car and Tom met us at the curb. He asked our name and radioed to the front desk that we had arrived. He helped us with our bags and we got checked in. The room was very comfortable and a nice size. The entire staff was very helpful about suggesting points of interest in the area and there are hundreds. Every day ice was delivered to the room. They have a little wine and cheese event every early afternoon.. The location is wonderful, there are many placed to dine in the immediate area. Very close to the riverfront and all its attractions. Many things are within walking distance so park your car and enjoy the walks. We did a river dinner cruise and enjoyed a number of the dining establishments. We also went to Henry's for breakfast every day. Henry's is located on the same block as the hotel and a great value. We have already decided to go back for another visit.

good choice for Savannah historic district
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Clean and comfortable. Antique furnishings and interior outfit. Breakfast included, but quality of food was very average (Kellogs cereal brand, bagels ok, waffles not so good, hard boiled eggs and yoghurt could all be a better brand/quality). Didn't see any children and very few younger guests. Location is great - river front, market place and small parks are just steps out the door.

Short walk from hotel
A city block is tiny there, just a couple of houses. What looks far to walk on the map is actually just a few doors down. It's easy to overestimate distance. Riverfront is two blocks from hotel, which is literally only one small and one large building plus crossing the street.

Wonderful treat after two days camping.
Hotel staff was welcoming and personable. We stayed one night, so being within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, as well as the town squares, were all very convenient. We ate a fabulous dinner next door at The Pink House and walked to an Irish pub on the River Road, even though it was rainy and chilly the night we were there. The only thing that could have been better was that the hotel desk did not have a listing of nearby activities, such as museums. They did provide a helpful map, though.

Very nice place to stay, if I paid the amount on the bill
The Planters Inn was a nice place but certainly not worth $609 for two nights, which I prepaid thru a travel site. When I checked out the bill was actually $460 for the two nights. Kinda ruined the stay after I found this out. Will have to check other sites out as well as call the hotel before I book thru this travel site again

Hotel great, this travel website not so much
This travel website (they won't let me use their name, I'll call them O) claims you have booked a "deluxe queen", but according to the hotel, there is no such thing, O can only book plain queens, the fancier queens with a park view or balcony are only booked through the hotel itself. The hotel itself was lovely, but I was quite annoyed to have paid more through O than the hotel website because I wanted one of the better room, only to learn when I got there that what Osells is only the rooms with the view of the parking garage.

Certainly would return here
We had room 202 right on the square with a walk out balcony. Beautiful, well-appointed room. The location was so convent to city sights. The staff was so welcoming. Matt the bellman greeted us most graciously as did the desk staff. Breakfast was provided in a very nice mezzanine room in the morning and there was a complimentary wine and cheese in the evening. Loved it. Would for sure stay there again!!!!

Planters Inn on Reynolds Square
The hotel is conveniently located with courteous staff. Our room was a small corner room. We got the upgrade and one side of the room overlooked the square while the other side faced the garage. we were on the 3rd floor and the street noise was audible. If you stay here, request a room on the top floor and save your $$$. They offer a nice buffet breakfast from 6:30am to 10am. We took advantage of this but did not participate in the wine and cheese social since we don't drink wine. Otherwise a nice stay but would try another hotel if I were to return to Savannah.
