Ants' nest

My daughter had a soccer game nearby and this hotel was recommended because of its proximity. For the price, it was okay. However, the bathroom curtain was f-i-l-t-h-y and there were ants everywhere. Customer service was amazing.

Inexpensive, but decent & dog-friendly

It was really just a place to sleep and shower for a weekend getaway trip. We needed a place that took dogs, and La Quinta had no size restrictions or deposit required. We didn't partake of the breakfast on either day. The remote control didn't work too well, and there were some bugs in the room. The the room was fairly clean and the towels fresh. For the price I was fine with it.

Went to watch the GA game at Wild Wing Cafe, which is located in a renovated area of town on an outdoor mall. We sat outside with the dog, and it was a very nice way to spend a warm fall evening.

Not very pleased

The reason that I chose this hotel was for its convenient location to Tybee Island and Riverstreet. The hotel itself was not very aesthetically appealing. The first thing that I noticed upon reaching the outside were that the steps leading to the 2nd floor were not cleaned. Upon arriving to the 2nd floor, I noticed yellow tape to the left of me so I was unsure if an accident had occured or if the area was deemed unsafe. The bathroom in the room was also extremely small. If I had not already paid for the room in advance, I would have found other accommadations.

Oglethorpe Mall was a very short drive from the hotel. There were also several strip malls along the way.

The good, the bad and the really ugly

From the outside the hotel appears to be OK. The rooms are awful. Not very clean. The 1st night the toilet stopped up. Their fix - send the security guard with a plunger for my husband to fix the problem. The carpet was just nasty. The chair in the room was very stained and nasty. Made me wonder what was left on the sheets and comforter. AC makes noise as long as it is left on; being that it was 108 degrees there, obviously we had to run the AC. Overall, I would not stay there again. Location is great and I will stay in another place in the same area, but not this particular hotel.

Pearl's Salt Grille was a great place to eat. Obviously a local favorite and about 10-15 minutes from the hotel. Food and service were very good.

good value

Room was fine, clean, but smelled of bleach for the 1st day of our stay. The only thing that ruined it was the cockroaches, but they stayed hidden until the last night, but the front desk and maintenance took care of the problem in a timely manner.

The worst La Quinta Inn ever!!!!!

The only thing I can Say is that I will "NEVER" stay there again. My 5 yr old was picking up some ones nasty toe nails off the floor. The maid service was horrible, and they need new curtians, they were nasty also.

Our time together

When we arrived, the assigned room was not cleaned as indicated in their computer. The manager was corrected the situation with a new room assignment (upgrade). The room was very nice, but the bathroom door was in an inconvenient location. It's like it should have been at the main entrance and not at the entrance of the tub & toilet. Overall, we had a great time. Staff very friendly.
