Except for the location...
Apparently, the only thing that keeps this place in business is its location. The staff is aloof, distant, and act as if they are doing you a favor to go to the trouble to check you in. The rooms are filthy. Years of hair, nail clippings, and dirt are accumulated in the corners of the cruise-ship size bathrooms. They wait until you check out to spring the $13 per night parking fee on you. They should take some of the revenue from the parking fees to clean up the urine stench and stains from the stairwells of the parking garage. If you still have the courage to book this dump, insist on an even-numbered room (if you're in the new section, not sure about the old section) so that you are not kept awake all night with the traffic noise from Bay Street. The AC unit is loud enought to keep you awake, but not loud enough to drown out the traffic noise. Being on the Bay Street side with a view of the River ain't worth being kept awake all night from the traffic noise and boistrous partiers on the street. Find a place a block or two back from Bay Street, you'll be almost as close to the river and likely treated with more respect.

Noisy First Night
After one night we asked for a room change. The first night we were on the first floor facing the main road. We didn't sleep. Traffic was very busy and the room was very noisy. Our air conditioning unit was loud. After we moved to the fourth floor, it was very quiet.

Lovely Savannah
The Inn at Ellis Square was a perfect location and the staff was very friendly. No reflection on the Inn but they did not have our reservation when we arrived but made everything OK with the documentation I had as proof. Would definitely would stay here again. Only complaint was that the breakfast area was over capacity on Monday morning.

I stayed only two night but everything was perfect. I arrived really early and they allowed me to check-in. The room was really comfortable and clean. The hotel is near a very pleasant area. It is close to River Stree and Lady and Sons' restaurant. Wonderful.

Good
Room was on first floor right by the street; busy street and very noisy until 2-3AM. Hotel is pretty, very well situated in the historic district, walk most of the time. Breakfast was not great, but OK.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Chart House, right across the street from the Inn. The best food we had in Savannah. Be sure to make a reservation, is a busy place.
