DeSoto's 15 stories boast some of the best views in Savannah with guestrooms and suites overlooking the city. Flexible event space can accommodate up to 850 guests.

Savannah - great location

We have nothing else in Savannah to compare this hotel to, it was our first trip there. Great location, near some beautiful squares and parks. Truly friendly folks, and friendly staff. Room was nothing special - adequate at best. Too few electric plugs - had to unplug radio to charge phones. Room was clean but they missed someone's sunglasses under the nightstand and someone else's idea of literature under the same nightstand. Shower head was sub par. Overall - good but not great.

Do not book on east side of hotel

Good stay with the exception of the local bar that had the party going on outside until after 3AM. Moved to west side room next day, and staff did not seem surprised about the noise. My question is why place us in this corner room at a higher rate when they had to know the noise would be unbearable. Otherwise a very helpful staff and good location

Terrible for Price

This hotel cost $194 with valet for 2 cars. Lets start at the valet. The valet opened my door and told me he would write my ticket. I stood at the side and watched the valets take care of 2 more cars before I had to ASK them to give me my ticket and park my car. It was really cold and windy outside. Then went to check into my room in which they informed me the room I had reserved was a handicapped room. Told them I didn't want it, they gave it to me anyway. I immediately came back down and changed rooms and they put me in another room on the second floor. Roomed smelled, so weird. It was this gross smell I can't describe. Room was decorated nice but there was no tub. Stand up showers and the water in the shower was warm at its hottest. Oh I forgot to mention, you have to pay for your own wifi...it's 2013, who pays for hotel wifi? Checked out the next morning, no breakfast no nothing. But we get ignored once again by the valets for about 10 minutes even though I called down 5 minutes prior to actually going down. Overall this was about a $50 hotel that I ended up paying $200 for. I am completely dissatisfied with this hotel and I have a half mind to ask for my money back. I've stayed at $80 hotels and received better treatment than this. And I hate to bring it up, but it really seems like a lot of these people weren't too concerned with black people. Honestly, I never bring up race but it seems as though no one in that hotel was really concerned for me or my girlfriend.

Not a Good Stay

The room was 82 degrees when we got there and didn't get below 75 during our weekend stay. The bathroom had rust everywhere. We could hear anything that our neighbors said through the walls. We were never asked how our stay was and the staff was of little to no help. The room was extremely small and the bed was extremely below par. A Hampton Inn would have been better than this location, and I would have gladly sacrificed the downtown spot for a small drive to get a better hotel. I was extremely disappointed with every aspect of this hotel, and will never stay at this Hilton again.
