Sadly Disappointed.
Made our reservations well in advance but were assigned a room for the handicapped. Hair in bathtub from previous guest and ring around bathtub. Dirty. Bed linens were stained, old, and felt dirty. Standing closet in bedroom had ironing board angled that when door was opened, the board fell on guest. Ice bucket still had old plastic liner in it along with water from ice melt. Paint was old and there were ugly dents on walls. Even the TV didn't work initially and we had to call the front desk to help get it turned on. Of note is that when advised the night manager graciously changed our room and offered assistance with our luggage. But by then the damage was done, and we felt uneasy the remainder of the night. The next morning we attempted to eat the continental breakfast, but the eggs were overcooked, cold, and repulsive. Pork patties were also cold and had a nasty taste. I am stunned that this hotel has the Hampton Inn name. The indifference and generally run down feel of the place would close down most other hotels. Awful experience.

Yearly getaway with hubby
The hotel was very clean and staff went out of their way to accomodate us. Rooms very nice and breakfast offered was appealling and sufficient for anyones taste. Extremly convenient to attractions and right across the street from the riverwalk. Would recommend this hotel to my friends or family and would stay again. Would like to have seen cheapier rates but it was comprable to others for the time of year.

Not a great experience
Housekeeping didn't clean the room very well. the floors of the hotel were filthy. In our room the beds weren't even made well. When we left I noticed there were three tears in the leather of my driver's seat of my vehicle. It appeared someone parked it that had keys in their backpocket. They refused to do a thing about it. I won't stay there again.

Long walk from hotel
Mrs. Wilkes is a must. We also dined a Paula Deen's but were not impressed. Again, Mrs. Wilkes is a must but they are only open 11a-2p..but they serve awesome southern style food. You might also want to try J B MAthews, which was recommended by the hotel staff. It is 2 blocks fromt he hotel.

weekend in Savannah
The staff was friendly and helpful, the location is within an easy walk of the historic area, the river walk. From the airport it was a 28.00 cabride, so you really could get by without a car since it is 15.oo a day for valet parking.
