Very nice hotel.

We enjoyed the room with a king size bed. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a couch and coffee table. Amenities were excellent and staff was too. I will definitely book here again.

Misleading Location in Hotel name

The hotel is not in the historic district: it is located on MLK Jr which is at best just outside the boundary of the historic district on a downbeat windswept road featuring a busy intersection, open lots and a gas station. The hotel has no restaurant or bar - the nearest places to eat or drink are a brisk ten minute walk across a busy road and not at all pleasant after dark. The breakfast is variable: good on one of our three days.

weekend trip

Hotel staff were great. The room, except the bathroom was run down. Curtains (the sheer ones) were torn & the carpet felt grimy. The location was on the outskirts of town. It wasn't bad but there were others that could have felt more central. Additionally, I was not sure of the cost compared to other locations. It did not feel like a great deal, so I marked it low.

Handy location and pleasant facility

Facilities were very good -- lobby, lounge, and breakfast area were very nicely designed. Staff was courteous and pleasant. Room was clean and well-equipped. Even though we were overlooking a fairly busy street, sound was not an issue. Location is just on edge of historic distric so it was a 10-15 minute walk to market and commercial area. Also located a block or two from the visitor center and the loacation to catch the various tour trolleys. Only gripe was the cost to park there seemed a bit steep and if you got in late you had to park at the Embassy Suites garage next door.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you take one of the tours that offers an add-on fee that allows you to get on and off their trolleys all-day after you have been on your tour, suggest you not bother as there are free city buses that do the same thing and are quicker to get around in. Also -- unless you have a disability -- you can walk from the farthest point of the historic area back to the hotel in less than 1/2 hour.

Nice hotel in upcoming area

This hotel, though advertised as being in the historic district of Savannah, is actually on the outskirts so expect to have a significant walk or very short cab ride to get to the waterfront. Beware that there are TWO Hampton Inns in Savannah's downtown (The other one has an amazing rooftop pool that overlooks the waterfront so go there instead if you can). Our only real beef with this hotel was the terribly undersized parking lot. There is a complimentary parking garage about 1 block away but we only learned of this after a bunch of aggravation while trying to find a spot in the lot. We would stay here again. The rooms were clean, the bed was fantastic, and the breakfast bar had something for everyone.

nice and friendly

Everything was nice and staff was friendly, rooms were large & clean, breakfast was always very good. The only thing I didn't like was it was to far away to walk to river and local restaurants & shopping spots. Parking is always a premium in savannah during the summer.

Older but Super Nice

We had a very good stay, was in a little older and rougher section of town. However, the Hotel was very nice and super clean. Staff was awesome, everyone was very hospitable!

Does not disappoint

In town for my son's college graduation. The staff was quite friendly. I asked for 2 cribs to be brought up for our infant twins and had pack n plays up in about 5 minutes (one small complaint. I called in advance and asked whether it was cribs or pack n plays and the guy I talked to said they were cribs). The rooms were cleaned well each day. The rooms could get a little stuffy but it's Savannah. Only ate breakfast one morning with no complaints. The location is great- able to walk to just about everything in the historic district. Parking is the only real complaint. The hotel lot is tiny. They offer parking in a garage behind Embassy Suites which is behind Hampton for $15/day. Basically a 2 block walk.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Recommend dining at the Pink House. A little pricey but excellent. The have a casual bistro on the side if you don't want the formal atmosphere. Everything is walkable in the historic district but be aware that the sidewalks can be uneven. Not stroller friendly.
