Great Place to Stay

Great place, great location. Only thing is if you want to sit down for the free breakfast most days you need to be there at 6am or you will be standing as there will not be any seating. Also the cookies should be available for breakfast.

Enjoyable Comfortable Stay

I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites with a couple friends and we really enjoyed our time there. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was very nice and delicious. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The only downside is the location is a little ways from popular spots, but nothing you cannot walk to. There is limited seating in the breakfast area and the pool was small, but otherwise, very nice place to stay.

had some issues

The first room we had was musty so they moved us to another room. That turned out to be extremely noisy at night - the hotel generator or something was turning on and off all night. So the next night, they found us another room that was quiet. The staff was very helpful and they issued a credit for the first night's stay because of all the issues. Breakfast was about what you would expect. We didn't use the pool & fitness room but they looked good.

7 Day Stay

My wife & I stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites in February of 2014. Our overall experience was positive and we had no regrets staying there for a 7 day period. We were able to start each day with a fulfilling breakfast in a nice dining area of the hotel. The breakfast was included in the price of our stay. (For those traveler spending only a night or two, the type of eggs and meat changes on a daily basis.) The rest of the wide selection remains constant. After a day touring & exploring we would return to fresh cookies in the lobby area. Coffee was always available. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was quiet except for some of the traffic noise coming from a busy street below. For us it wasn't much of a problem. The heating / cooling unit was a little noisy at times while listening to the TV. The bed was comfortable. There was no bathtub for those that might prefer one. The hotel concierge was very friendly & informative. The Savannah Visitors Center was a short walk from this hotel. This is a meeting place for city tours and shuttles. We also like the location because it is about half way between the two ends of the Historical District. One day we would spend our time on the Forsyth Park side and the next we would walk around the Savannah River area. The bus station is near the back of the Hampton Inn. We rode the non-stop Airport Express bus (Route 100X) for $1.50 each back to our flight home. I wish I was aware of this before paying for a taxi.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

In the Visitors Center parking lot a shuttle bus is available to take tourists to Tybee Island. The cost of this service is only $3 per person one-way. Days and time may vary according to the season. Check with a host at the Visitors Center.

nice location

The hotel is right off of the bridge, easy to find. Great complimentary breakfast, a good variety of hot foods and cold foods. Parking is scarce though in the hotel's lot. Good thing mostly everything is walking distance though, we left the car parked for the first two days. The last night it was raining, so we had to drive, and when we came back there was no where to park. They have another lot across the street though, so a little bit of an inconvenience, but they only charge $5 a night so it is hard to beat. Our bathroom was a little outdated, but nothing to complain about. Beds were super comfy! And the staff was very nice. Overall, a good place to stay for a few nights, and I would go back again.

Everything is within a mile or so walking distance, not bad at all. The Boars Head Bar and Grill on the river was the best place we ate the whole trip. Worth every penny!

Hampton Inn on MLK Blvd Savannah

Very nice stay, the people were very accommodating and helpful. Close enough to the river for dining and entertainment but not too close to be noisy. We had a very enjoyable stay and would go back again.
