The Good and Not So Good

The hotel is vey nice and I would have given it excellent ratings except for issues with housekeeping. Our last day there we returned after a tiring day looking forward to a nice shower and some time to relax. Our room had not been cleaned so we changed plans and left to go to dinner. On the way out we stopped at the front desk and told them the room needed attention. The clerk immediately asked if we had left a "do not disturb"sign on the door. Not great customer relations but she was very apologetic and promised to have it taken care of immediately. Unfortunately when we returned several hours later the room was untouched. We complained to the front desk and asked for them to bring towels and items for coffee in the morning. Soon someone arrived at our door with towels. When we asked for the coffee items she was not very happy but did go get them for us. I had also noticed that the halls were not vacuumed during our 4 day stay as evidenced by the trash on the floor. The restaurant was wonderful and the staff there was so helpful and very pleasant. Everyone greeted us and made us feel like they were happy to have us there. The cooked-to-order omelets were great! Pay attention to the sign they put out warning of peak times and avoid those times if you can. We didn't and ate our food with a spoon because they couldn't clean silverware fast enough to accommodate the crowd. Lesson learned.

Decent stay

The hotel is 20 minutes away from Savannah. We arrived at 2.30 and were told we can't check in until 3pm, moreover we booked NON smoking room and they put us into a smoking room. They couldn't transfer us. We were not informed that breakfast ends at 10am instead of 10.30 on the weekends. Swimming pool is not "the greatest" but the room itself very nice and clean. Overall it's just OK.

Value at its Best!

The hotel was clean and had a beautiful and relaxing ambience! My family was very pleased. The dull breakfast bar was great! The managers special was a fantastic addition. I great way to help patrons relax without having to drink and drive. I definitely will recommend and use again.

Eurostyle Chic at downhome prices.

We stayed overnight at the Savannah Airport Embassy Suites before attending church services and visiting with old friends in Savannah recently. This was a spur of the moment trip since we hadn/t been there over twenty years I was not comfortable picking a hotel in downtown Savannah without knowing the neighborhoods anymore. After spending more time than i should've on the varous travel sites, I decided that most of the rooms downtown looked either overpriced or just plain iffy based on the reviews. My husband does not like staying in B&B's and I've found that "charming old inn or hotel" often means tired, moldy and dusty. (We're from Charleston, so we're used to old and know the difference.) We've traveled all over the world and enjoyed the standards of some of the more contemporary design hotels in Spain and other parts of the world. This hotel was brand new with comfortable beds and immaculately clean white duvet covers and plenty of good quality pillows linens. The large brightly lit bathroom was spotlessly clean and with ample vanity space and a shower with great water pressure. The sitting room area was equally well taken care of and the bar sink, fridge and microwave were all spotless. We did not use the microwave or the coffee maker, but they provided splenda, sugar, individual coffees and teas and creamer as well as starbucks style cups and cupholders. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of offerings including omelets made to order. The front desk staff was sharp, cheerful and accomodating. The only complaint I might have was that there were no pay per view movies-only cable and, I think, Showtime and/or HBO. We were both exhausted and in the mood to watch a movie and chill out, but it was no big deal. Very pleasantly surprised. We were about 10 to 15 minutes from our destination in downtown Savannah and arrived early for our event. After touring around the afternoon we got there, we were pleased not to have spent the money to stay near River Street which has gotten exceedingly seedy. There are probably nice places to stay near where we were, but for the difference in price and the short time we stayed this was a great deal. We did not check out the pool or any other areas. There was a large wedding that stayed there the same night, but this did not seem to be too much for the hotel staff to handle.
