It was decent

Staff is very friendly! Had no problem with the room. They were doing renovations on surrounding rooms till ten pm though! Hopefully upgrading the bathrooms! Location is so-so. Right next to children's hospital.

Great Experience

Very nice hotel, nice stay, great friendly and honest staff. Forgot my backpack with a serious amount money in it and remembered after almost 2 hour away from hotel. I turned around and called to check if they found my bag. They did and kept it safe for me until i get there. Thank you Somone (my room housekeeper) and the Indian gentleman who was at the front desk that day. I will definitely come back and stay at that location again and feel safe.

Difficulty at checkin, but hotel great

Not a problem of the hotel, but the online service had NOT gotten my reservation to them. So, I was sitting in the lobby with my laptop open and the night mgr was on phone with holding for an operator. When the operator in the Phillipines finally got online with us, she resolved everything within about 10-15 mins. The reservation was already in my e-mail confirmations, but the hotel did not have online, and she had to FAX the details over since I had already paid for it in full for two nights. It was pouring rain outside, and during a break in the rain I was trying to get into the hotel. So, the problem resolved and I did get to the room, in the dry. By that time it was too late and too rainy to drive into Historic district for dinner. This motel, as I knew when I booked, is at midtown and VERY convenient for the price. It is a 6 mile drive down Abercorn to get where you'll spend most of your time. However, at mid-town, lots of good restaurants, malls, and other shopping. Room was LARGE with microwave and fridge --- this alone would make me stay there again. Flat panel large TV on the wall facing the big king sized bed. Bed supper comfy. Bath older, but there is a tub, and good water pressure. Lighting at area where I put on makeup was very good. I did have problems with the TV, audio came in, but not video. The manager did come up and fixed it. So, I would rate this hotel higher due to size, comfort, cleanliness, amenities ... but some might want to be closer to historic district. For the price I paid - It doesn't get better - two nights for less than I usually pay for one night.

Arrive on a weekday, other than Friday, so you can have lunch (huge lunch) at Mrs. Wilkes. It is only open M-F, from 11-2 and the lines can be long. I got there at 10:30 and enjoyed talking to people in line. Food was homestyle, 1,000x better than Paula Deen.

Better Than Expected

My friends and I stayed at this hotel while we were on our trip to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant in downtown Savannah. We chose this hotel because it was one of the cheapest in the area, so I wasn't expecting much out of it. It was much nicer than expected. The free wifi worked well, the room was clean (not pristine, but good enough), and the continental breakfast was good. The staff was also pretty friendly. The main issue with the hotel was that it was so far away from downtown. When I booked it, I didn't realize how far it was. I wouldn't necessarily stay there again just because of how far away from downtown it is, but there was nothing wrong with the hotel itself.

Simply gross...

After driving 10+ hours, my family and I came to this location to rest. While the night check in person was decent enough.. the room was ATROCIOUS!!! It smelled. It was ramshackle. I thought that while I was getting a bargain, I never that a bargain did NOT mean cleanliness. The light was out over the sink. Just disappointing....

some Souther history for sure

We were disappointed the room we booked WAs not available when we checked in. Is a little ways out of town but with the car this wasn't too big a problem. The waffles @ breakfast were great

Not too bad

Check in was swift and courteous. The continental breakfast was amazing and the room had everything we needed from Coffee, to an iron, to a hair dryer. The air conditioning worked very well. The sheets however, were well worn and could have used replacing, More cream and sugar in the room for the coffee pot would have been nice. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom which was a plus but no trash can in the bathroom. The hotel had a small/meager pool and no hot tob as was advertised on their website. I liked that they had the option for smoking in the room and the location was perfect and right around the corner fro everythwere we wanted to be.
