The staff was wonderful and very nice. However if you are going to stay there choice the valet parking with the hotel;it is cheaper. Or you will pay 15 dollars each time you leave. they dont tell you that. Rooms smell like cigarettes and the bathroom wasnt that clean. I think that hotel has the best view, but they close the balcony/deck until summer. So I wouldnt stay there agan until they update the rooms.

2nd time around

This was my third visit to the hotel. The first experience was amazing.... Great room - clean, recently rennovated, exceptional view with access to balcony, very customer friendly staff etc. the second time was mediocre ... Room okay - lacked luster, not rennovated, exceptional view. This final visit... Unforgivable. Room not modernized ... View... Exceptional... However, not able to access the balcony...door permanently locked, old towels, old t.v., etc. It's unfortunate... But I must say goodbye to the Melia... I am not willing to take a gamble with my level of service/comfort or money.

My stay was "OK"

The hotel staff were really nice and friendly. They gave me plenty of advice on places to visit. My hotel room was not as nice as it looked on the website. Carpet was disgusting. The bed was not as comfy as I had expected it to be. There were stains on two of the pillows in my room. I did like that my room came with a small balcony. I did not like the fact that it was easily accessible by whomever stayed to the right of my room. I'm glad whoever stayed in that room did not have ill intentions. All in all I had a great time in Atlanta but I will stay somewhere else next trip.

Disappointed

Pictures from the website are deceiving. Staff are nice. When I first arrived, shower didnt have hot water til 25 minutes running water. Ice machine not working. The air conditioner not working properly. Pool not clean. The bar at the pool not open. This hotel needs to be up and running and fully staff. Rooms are dated. I did have a talk with the manager upon check out. They shouldve compensated me in some way.

The Melia

This hotel is a great bargain. The hotel staff is great! I made my reservations the day of my visit via online and ran into a bit of the delay with check-in. However, management was very accomodating and even offered an upgrade for free. The bar within the hotel has very friendly bartenders! .

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

This hotel is near the MARTA Train and only one stop from the center of downtown (MIDTOWN). Art and entertainment is all within a 2 mile radius. There is also tons of entertainment in Buckhead, Midtown, and surrounding areas-all with reach of the train.

Perfect Location

Hotel was very nice, Full breakfast buffet, fantastic view from my 10th floor room, lots of room, in room iron/ironing board, TV was a CRT but worked ok. Hotel was within walking distance to Coca-Cola museum, Aquarium, CNN Center and many other places. The neighborhood was quiet, I was able to keep my door open out to the world.
