Awesome!!!!

I went to Atlanta to participate in the Publix half marathon and it was great. The staff was friendly, the location was easy enough for me to walk to the Georgia Convention center to pick up my bib and its close to the Marta. I would recommennd this palce to anyone.

Expected more from Melia

The lobby was about the only thing going for this hotel. I expected more from a Melia property (having stayed at a couple in Brazil and Mexico). It seemed like they just slapped thier name on an old hotel. After you leave the nice lobby - you enter the room levels where the carpets are worn and have a old and smoke filled smell. They had older ameneities in the room, and some things were actually broken or "taped" together. I won't be staying here on my next visit to Atlanta....and it will now cause me to 2nd guess staying at a Melia property in the future.

Total Bust!

Greeting, As a repeat Melia guest, I was thoroughly disappointed by the Melia-Atlanta. I have stayed in some of the properties in Europe and been more than pleased. The Atlanta location was dated and not clean once you passed the lobby. Aside from being dated it was raggedy (elevators and ice machine not functioning, tape on the floor to cover snags in the carpet...just to mention a few of the number of problems). My room was dirty: stained comforter, food and trash on the floor where the room had not been vacuumed, stains on the walls, and it was dusty. On top of the nasty room - the staff was rude. I was a guest for New Years Eve. The staff was awful-not a good way to start the new year.

good hotel reasonable cost

I had a good experience while visiting Atlanta. The hotel was right off of the train line. The staff was pleasant and the room was clean and I also had a nice view. You could tell with certain things like the bathroom that they were remodeling as it was a combo of the old and new.

service

The service staff was the best part of the stay. They were friendly and very accommodating. The hotel although nice in appearance, the rooms need upgrading. Furniture is old and outdated.

Business trip

The lobby is beautiful, with a nice bar. The room was okay, nice bed, but no washcloths, no fridge, no Kleenex. The room was very noisy, sirens all night and loud neighbors. When I left to checkout there was nobody at the desk. Waited for five minutes and finally just left.

Beautiful Hotel

This hotel was beautiful! The rooms were clean, has all the amenaties. I had a keurig coffee maker, hair dryer, a refrigerator and room service was quick and the food was very good! I would highly suggest staying here! The only downfall is you have to pay for parking in the parking garage, and it doesnt fit larger vehicles its a 6'6 height limit. So be aware you have to park in the hospital lot and walk a block if you have a large vehicle. The view was breath taking, and my stay was fantastic!

The aquarium is a little more than a mile from this hotel, so if you have nice weather it is not a bad walk!

Missing somethings

Starting with the positive, the room had a beautiful skyline view but police, ambulance, and fire truck sirens went off, interupting our sleep all night, because the hotel is located near a hospital. We reserved a double bed room and were bumped from our reservation when we got there and received a two twin bed room with a skyline view. Needless to say, that was not good for a Valentines Day getaway. The room was ice cold and never warmed up. There was no refrigerator (as advertised on the website) or microwave. There were no drink machines on the floor and I was extremely thirsty. The hotel restraunt took 40 minutes to bring the food out after we ordered, they overcharged our card, the waitress avoided us when it was time for the check. The valet broke my drivers window in my Mercedes Benz truck and they didnt tell me about it and now I'm filing a claim. Overall, I say dont do it. I was looking for a hotel to stand up to the Embassy and the Hilton, and I got Laquinta Inn and Red Roof Inn instead. :-(
