Horrible Hotel!!!
Never written a negative review in my life. This hotel is the pits! It smells, has swamp coolers, and I felt like I had entered some kind of mafia. Pics are totally deceptive. Beds are spring beds prob from the 50's. Paid 122. Not worth 45.

Great Staff, terrible room
The hotel lobby was beautiful. The staff was amazing! I was greeted by a dozen people, doors held, bags carried...you name it! My room was a total disappointment. I was on business and I could not access the wifi in my room and it was incredibly slow when I used the hardline (page loads timing out). There was a storm and the cable was out. So I was stuck in my room, in an unfamiliar city, during a storm, with no internet and no television. The pool was closed by the time I would have been able to access it (closes very early). My room was one of the worst I have stayed in, especially considering the price I paid! -The tv was old. Smallish (by todays standards) and bad color and reception. -No fridge, which as a traveler I have come to expect. -Mold in bathtub/shower -Hairs in shower -Tears in sheets and blankets; laundered too often and not inspected. -Stains and hairs in bed (perhaps just re-made after last occupant?). I was disgusted. -Ants near balcony door and in bathroom! -Carpet wet near balcony door even though it was closed. Again....the hotel itself was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. My room was disgusting and it was not inexpensive. Perhaps it was simply one bad room of many lovely rooms, but I will not stay there next time I'm in town, and I will not recommend it to others.

Fourth of July Fun
We had a great few days staying downtown to see the fireworks from the upstairs lounge. The bathrooms weren't as nice as we would have liked, but the overall service from the staff was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

Lacking
When I forst pulled up to the hotel. I was informed that I had the choice of paying $36.00 a day for valet parking or "if I was not going to use my car that much" I could pay 15 dollars a day for a parking spot off the premises. The lobby was nice and it ended there. The rooms were dated, the floors were horrible, there was not a fridge or microwave in the room. The breakfast buffet, was no better than any complimentary breakfast at a Days Inn. All in all, not a good hotel at all for the money.

Great hotel
Had a fabulous time at the hotel...wonderful staff! Good food! perfect location! However, I must say that the pool was used for a spring break style kind of party on the weekend, not conducive to sunbathing or family pool fun.

Poorly maintained hotel!
Smelly rooms/ carpets greeted us! To change room to a better floor costs $50 a night after bargaining. For the number of people staying there, there is only one toaster with 4 slots to toast your bread. If you are a tea drinker, take your own tea bags. You have to wait for a long time, while staff go shopping to Starbucks to get a tea bag for you! Only positive thing is convenient location.

The Melia
This hotel is a great bargain. The hotel staff is great! I made my reservations the day of my visit via online and ran into a bit of the delay with check-in. However, management was very accomodating and even offered an upgrade for free. The bar within the hotel has very friendly bartenders! .
