Great Location
We had to stay here for a conference. It was in walking distance to the conference and in walking distance to some good restaurants (esp. Ray's in the City)!. The room had a fun, contemporary feel. Didn't care for the pillows, too small. Would definitely stay here again!

Not bad - but not great
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while traveling for business. My stay at The Courtyard was overall good, but didn't hit it out of the park. The location was convenient as home base for several meetings all around town, and did provide plenty of options for evening dining. With that said, I was surprised to see that "downtown" Atlanta is not the bustling hot-bed of evening activity that I expected. I had more fun, more unique options, and felt overall safer a few miles away in Midtown. Most of my time in Atlanta was not spent in the room, but for the time that I was in the room, there were a few things that would have made this better experience. For starters, it was a very small room. The king sized bed took up nearly the entire footprint of the space. There was a desk, but it doubled as the stand for a large TV, and was so close to the foot of the bed that it wasn't really practical for working at, or sitting down to eat my take-out dinner. The wifi was free, but so slow that I pretty much abandoned anything that involved adding an attachment to an e-mail, or pulling documents from a secure server back at the office. The gym was slightly above average and did have a few nice cardio machines and 1 multipurpose weight machine. It was better than nothing, but again, not so great that I'd put it on the "pro" list if I were considering this hotel for the future. Overall, everything was very clean, the staff were very polite, and the location was good for getting around town.

Loved it and would recommend!!
My husband and I visited Atlanta for the first time this past weekend (3/15/13-3/17/13). We blindly chose this hotel without knowing anything about it and it was a great choice. The great customer service started soon as we arrived. We were barely in front and concierge was opening my door, greeting us and ready to park our car. The experience continued once we were at check in. The desk clerk was friendly and the process was fast. Once in the room, we were really impressed with the cleanliness. Everything was in order and looked nicely. The bathroom is big and the shower is by far my favorite feature. The bed was nice and comfy and all of the linens were clean. We were immediately able to relax and feel safe. The staff was always helpful and asked if we needed directions someplace or if they could assist us in any way. We also ate at the hotel restaurant where the remarkable service continued. Hotel is in walking distance of many restaurants, shopping, and attractions such as CNN, Aquarium, Underground, and Coca Cola. I can't think of anything negative to say and I am some what hard to impress. I would've liked more restaurants and entertainment inside the hotel but that was no biggie since there is plenty to do near by. I would recommend this hotel to others and I will definitely stay again. If you are looking for a hotel with spectacular attractions this is not the spot. However, if you are looking for a great hotel that is clean with helpful and respectful staff this is it! Not to mention not too pricey. I looked at other hotels in the area that were way more but didn't even provide a refrigerator without an additional fee. Other than that parking fees were expensive ($25 per day). But compared with other hotels that ranged from $28-$35 per day for parking Courtyard is still better. All in all, Kudos Courtyard for making our stay away from home a comfortable one.

Lovely room
The room was lovely and of a good size, pretty clean, and mostly quiet other than a little bit of neighbor noise in the hall; the bed was comfortable; and the shower was huge, with good water pressure. Hypoallergenic bedding is available upon request. The hotel seemed to have some nice amenities, but we did not avail ourselves of them, so I can't offer an opinion on them. One odd thing: The hotel bar was closed by 10, so when we wanted a nightcap, we had to go roaming through the neighborhood in search of a bar. Valet parking was $25 per day, which was pricey but pretty typical for hotels in the area. The valets were friendly and efficient, and we didn't have to endure a particularly long wait for our cars. Getting in and out was easy. During our visit, one elevator was broken, which left us standing around waiting unless we called down to the front desk to have them send the freight elevator up to our floor. It wasn't a major inconvenience. Only people with key cards could operate the elevator, which was a nice touch. Note to sleepyheads: There's a Starbuck's downstairs, free coffee in the room, and free coffee in the lobby.

First timer in Atlanta
Close to the major tourist attractions!
The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! This was my first trip to Atlanta. I stayed at the hotel to attend a conference at the Georgia World Congress Center. Although there is no shuttle service directly from this hotel, it was an easy walk to the Georgia World Congress Center. Near the Georgia World Congress Center, you are near the CNN Center, The Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, and Centennial Park. How cool is that! Get the CityPass, so you don't have to stand in line waiting to buy tickets to these things. These attractions also have places you can stop and eat at. The hotel seemed like it was situated in a seedy location, but for anyone who has ever been to San Francisco, it's kind of like that. No worries-just be aware as you would anywhere else that has a "downtown" area. The hotel has a restaurant/bar right next to it. The staff is friendly and upbeat, but the service is slow. I would not recommend it if you are looking for some real Southern food. Go to Pittypat's Porch on Andrew Young Boulevard and be sure to make reservations beforehand! You probably will have leftovers, but that's okay because you have a fridge in the hotel room and a community microwave in the lounge area. There is also a Market connected to the hotel to grab snacks. Check out the Tabernacle (also near Centennial Park) for upcoming events. I was able to buy tickets for a concert that was being performed there on one of the nights I was in Atlanta. Beware: The room has one small closet for hanging clothing, which is shared with the mini fridge and in-room safe. No drawers for clothes, just the one nightstand where the bibles are. One of the days I was staying at the hotel, I came back to an unmade room. I alerted the front desk and they cleaned it while I was at dinner. The night before my check-out there was a paper slipped under the door with a small charge for something I did not buy. I let the front desk know and they took it right off with no hassles.

Chipper's last game
Overall a very good stay. The room was well decorated and very clean, especially the bathroom, spotless. we went for Chippers last game, got there a little late and had to walk to the stadium. We made it in 25 minutes and had plenty of time. When we got back to the hotel we visited the dining/bar area. The staff was very friendly and service was great. The food was decent and the atmosphere, mixed Braves and Cardinals fans was good. We would stay there again.
