Almost perfect

We just returned from the Bilmar. Overall, we had a very good time and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The beach was gorgeous and the location ideal. The food at the two on site restaurants was also quite good. Our only two complaints were noise from the street, garbage pickup, and a few inconsiderate guests, as well as multiple palmetto bugs found in the room (including one which crawled on my daughters arm as she was sleeping). I know these bugs are common in the area, but it really detracted from our overall experience. Despite these exceptions we would return.

Classic Beachfront

Because of work and visiting family/friends we only had one night to ourselves and we made the right choice. Expansive and underrated beach .., Sloppy Joe's a great moderately priced restaurant ...photogenic sunset .. we'll be back

Good winter getaway

Shower wasn't very hot and the carts going on the paver walks outside our door very early in the morning were kind of rude, but otherwise our room was good and our week there was enjoyable. Restaurants and bars near our room were great.

Getaway

Jan.31st-Feb.7th. We loved this resort! We had an oceanfront room and got to see every sunset from our window. Simply beautiful! The room was quite large and the beds are amazing! The only complaint We had was the showerhead was very small and not much water pressure. It made it very hard to wash and rinse your hair. The staff was fantastic! Also, Ricki-t's bar is directly across the street and the live band plays 7 days a week and is very loud! All in all, you really enjoyed our stay!

An awesome stay.....

We stayed at the Bilmar for 3 days/nights in late January, 2014. It was our first experience here and we weren't entirely sure what to expect outside of the reviews we'd read. The Bilmar gives the appearance of an old school bowling alley on first site, but get past that and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Everything looks recently updated and was SO CLEAN. We got a beachfront room in the Shells building and were quite satisfied with the view and comfort/cleanliness of the room. The restaurants/bars on site (Sloppy Joes and Bassies) served very reasonably priced and and tasty food. The beach area is HUGE and very nice. We didn't use the pool or hot tub because it was too cold out, but we did inspect them and found them to be clean and in good repair. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here again. If we had to offer a negative, it would be that the Wi-Fi didn't work and neither did the room safe.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Sitting inside at the bar gets you larger and cheaper drinks than sitting on the outside end of the bar.

Fantastic employees

My Christmas stay was wonderful. I was there by myself so the very small room was OK. Top of the list was how friendly the ENTIRE staff were. Location’s great, amenities were excellent and everything was clean. On my next trip to Treasure Island I will return to the Bilmar.
