Nice enough for casual get away

During check in - front desk clerk was moving about and not really paying attention to us. She kept calling us ladies, although one of us was a male and didn't have long hair or anything that I could see would make her think so. I could see the other clerk noticed but couldn't get our clerk's attention since she was a few feet away. The one waiting on us just wasn't catching on and after a couple of times, I pointed this out. She shrugged it out and stated she couldn't tell because of the glare in the room. After that uncomfortable beginning, the parking across the street wasn't very well explained and neither was anything such as where to get beach towels, etc. It was pretty much - wander and find out on your own. We were mostly interested in the beach and didn't bother to see what was available on the grounds and ventured around the area to see about dining and activities. If you want a clean room, nice view and to wander the area on your own, this is an okay place.

Not for Smoker's or those that like to sit...

Overall the hotel was wonderful. The rooms and the entire property are smoke free. They make you sign a waiver stating that you won't smoke in the rooms or EVEN on your private outdoor balcony. unless you wish to be charged an additional $150 fine. Yet, there are ashtrays like every 30 feet and you can smoke anywhere outside they told me except by the pool. I was very confused. - As far as the sitting down and room comfort, there was no sofa or comfy chairs in the rooms besides two stiff chairs, 4 bar stools and the beds. Nothing to get comfortable on to watch TV beside the beds. Kinda awkward.

Fun TI Stay

Hotel was not anything special but is definitely in a great location. Close to shopping - little store, Walgreens and Publix - Surf Style too. Close to a variety dining options from more elegant to quick and easy and of the town not just fast foods. Ricky T's is a must visit for drinks and music. The beach is beautiful with a 2 mile walking sidewalk/path.

First time twice

In 14 years of traveling to vacation spots along the Gulf Coast this is the first time we have stayed at the same location twice. We love the clean, sandy beaches and Bilmar provides a very clean, comfortable setting and the hotel couldn't be more hospitable! An added bonus this time (that we did not know about in advance) was the free entertainment including Sawyer Brown and fireworks on the beach! There were amusement rides, vendors and food stands as well. Overall a great vacation! p.s. If you are staying here, be sure to make the short drive north to John's Pass!

Great location, Great hotel

We only stayed here for two nights but I was very impressed with the Bilmar and if I ever come back to Treasure Island would definitely stay again. The room was decent size, clean and had a great ocean view. The location honestly couldn't be beat...right in the heart of Treasure Island with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance and it also backs onto the beach so you can go straight from hotel to beach in a second.

Middle Grounds Grill is slightly more expensive than some of the other places around but the food is excellent, our waitress was super friendly and helpful and on Thursdays they have half price martinis which are to die for!

Relaxing week in the sun!

Our 1 week escape from the cold Canadian winter was enjoyed at the Bilmar. Although familiar with the area, we had no experience with this resort and booked on line with the hopes we would not be disappointed...and we were not. Our Gulf front efficiency unit on the ground floor provided a nice little patio with great beach access. The room was clean, comfortable and met our needs for our own cooking, even with the minimal amount of cookery provided. Location is excellent, and includes access to a nice cement walkway running approx 1 km along beachfront. Although the facility shows its' age in style, every effort has been taken to update it, and attention to cleanliness is evident.

Blizzard relief

Escaped 3 feet of snow to a wonderful gulf coast beachfront resort. Should have paid extra for the deluxe suit that would have added a balcony but for the price the gulf front suite was great! Great sights, great sounds and so warm..... the happy hours was supper reasonable and the food at the hotel spots was great. Would definitely go again. Bar across the street a bit loud
