Good location but poor hospitality
We enjoyed the Keys and this hotel was very convenient for visits to John. Pennekamp Coral State Park and other activities. But for the price we expected a better furnished suite. The kitchen lacked many basic items such as a decent coffee maker and hot pads. And they could have supplied some coffee and filters and some bottled water as signs of hospitality. And how about a call from the front desk to check if we needed anything? We have stayed in many condos and for the price expected more.

Ocean Point
We were completely and pleasantly surprised by our choice of Ocean Point. This is a very nice and well maintained property. The property is gated so traffic is minimum and its very quiet. Our room was clean and comfortable. Furnishings were perfect for location and had two small balconies. I highly recommend staying here.

Great value for a resort stay!!! Greatest family vacation ever!
The suite was beautiful! There were just a couple of drawbacks; the washing machine wouldn't work correctly- we had to call maintenance over and over. They had to order a part so they couldn't actually fix it and we had to use the washer in another suite. They compensated us with a free breakfast. It was ok. They did not supply dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher- you either had to buy one use packets from them or buy some at the local grocery store. I think that it should have been supplied. And finally, the beach on the resort was very small and rocky, not good for swimming. The resort itself was beautiful and the pool and jacuzzi were awesome! Overall, we had a wonderful time and the value was unbeatable!

Very spacious, great for families
Not a ton to do here. They should get paddle boards, board games, more activities. The rooms are great. We would go back, for sure.

One night stay
Mold on shower curtain, sink in bathroom clogged, lights not working and screen to patio off hinges. Made management aware of these problems.

family vacation over new year's
we enjoyed our stay at ocean pointe, the place is a bit outdated. I don't think it should be a four star. It could be with a little work. The pool was great. The hot tub was small (4 people max) I could not get into it until the 3rd day that we were there.

Nice place
It is a nice place in a wonderful keys location with great views. The rooms are showing some age, but comfortable and spacious (except for balconies which are tiny). It is more like a condo in that there is not daily room service. Good pool for kids and a typical keys beach - which means small and not as nice as elsewhere in Florida.

Great family Christmas getaway
I booked a reservation at Ocean Pointe Suites for my family while being wholly unfamiliar with its location and the Florida Keys in general. Overall this was a great value, and I would definitely consider staying here again! The room (2-bedroom suite) was spacious and beautifully furnished, and we found that it met all of our needs. My parents (in their 50s-60s) are kind of high-maintenance and thought that some of the furnishings in our condo were dated, but my sister and I (in our mid-20s) had no complaints about that; we thought they were being unnecessarily critical. Our balcony was tiny, but had a great view of the ocean. The pool looked nice, but we did not use it so I can't really comment on that. We ate breakfast at the cafe once and the food took awhile to arrive (30+ minutes), but it was Christmas and busier than the staff anticipated. The food was delicious (better than expected considering the long wait). The location was perfect for our needs- about a 15-minute drive from everything in Key Largo. Note: If you are looking for a hotel right in the middle of Key Largo, this may not be the place for you. Even though this hotel is called Ocean Pointe Suites Key Largo, we found that it is actually located in Tavernier (mile marker 92.5). This was no issue for us, as all of the places we went (dive shops, the state park, souvenir shopping, grocery store, restaurants, etc) were less than 10 miles away in Key Largo. It made for easy driving, and kept costs down by us avoiding staying at the more expensive hotels in the heart of Key Largo. Behind the guest check-in area and restaurant, there is a nice little beach with reclining chairs and a boardwalk that leads to a gazebo over the water- small but adorable, and especially appreciated due to the lack of beaches that we found elsewhere in the Key Largo/Tavernier area. While my sister and I went exploring (diving, eating key lime pie EVERYWHERE, other excursions...) in Key Largo, our parents stayed at the condo and lounged on the beach most of the time. It worked out well- an exciting vacation for us, and a relaxing vacation for them.
