No real surprise here
Hey This is one of those you get what you pay for......I had friends staying there so we all met to go to spring training games. Perfect to just walk down the road to the games.Real nice staff and housekeeping. Place itself is more than a bit tired, more like ready for retirement. I must say it worked for us but would not have worked if traveling with spouse. lol

Dont be afraid of the Longhorn right next door good steak dinner about 17.00. also the tomato joint across the street has an excellent salad bar.

okay for the price
exact same level as a Motel 6. the staff was not very friendly and the showers suck. although so does motel 6. next time I will still go with Howard Johnson, are the kids still cleaning up a bit.

Super money saver
Great for what you paid for
I stayed in mid Jan for a 5 day business/personal trip and for what i paid for, it was great. They serve breakfast till 9:30am; which is fine throughout the week but during the weekend when when you would rather sleep in after a night of drinking, not so much. They do have a pool although I had never seen it opened (the gates are locked). The rooms do have a damp smell to them but them again it could just be Tampa itself. The staff are amazing!! Professional, hardworking, and accommodating. I even had great conversations with them, very easy to speak with. Overall, you get what you paid for; a bed to sleep on, driving distance to downtown and SoHo (5-10mins), great staff, what more do you need?

FSU Road Warriers
Hotel is in a great spot for trips to Tampa stadium. Not too far...Night life goes on until wee hours here. Great if you like that kind of action. Lots of food options and a place to buy hard liquor and wine just a block away.

Not Terrible, Great location!
Just as most of the reviews note, the place is obviously not a Ritz Carlton or anything like that, but it's not the worst place I've ever stayed in before. For the price, it is a great place to stay, especially if you're going to a game at Raymond James or going to the Airport.

Anniversary Getaway 2012
Great spot for mini getaway
The Desk clerk was not friendly at all. The cleaning staff was very friendly. Needs to have better parking or either cameras while parked my car was hit there were no witnesses or camera to see who did it. when I ask the desk clerk if there were camera on site because someone had hit my car he just said no and walked away.
