The Howard Johnson Tampa North/Busch Gardens is located in Tampa on I-275 at the Fowler Ave, Exit 51. With our convenient location we have much to offer in the way of things to see and do. For those of you with a taste for the exotic we are just 2 miles from the famous Busch Gardens Theme Park. We are less than an hours drive from the silver sands of Clearwater Beach, and if shopping is your thing, Tampas University Mall with various boutiques, restaurants, and lounges is minutes away. Children under 18 stay free with parents, and cribs are available at no extra charge. We feature our RISE and DINE Continental Breakfast with over 10 items plus juice and coffee. AND we also have free Wireless Internet Access in all guest rooms. No Pets Allowed. For stays of 5 plus nights, please call or email the hotel directly.

Too Bad to Recommend

Everything at this location was dirty, carpets, walls, doors, windows, etc. The continental breakfast was a joke with few choices and the staff ran out of items such as butter. The room had a broken sink and the shower barely gave a lkewarm stream. Housekeeping failed to clean room and replace linens and towels. All doors were open-the only secured door was the room door. Not a good choice..

Room smelled like pot.

When i got there the room smelled like marijuana. The non smoking rooms where booked so i understood that there may be a faint smell of cigarette but that was not the case. When i complained to the front desk the offer to move me to another smoking room but i would have to pay extra since it had a larger bed. She told me if i was unsatisfied that the 7-11 across the street sold air freshener. The hotel had a lot of women that dressed like hookers that where meeting different men outside my room window at all hours of the night who also cleared out the free cereal breakfast in the morning. The only good this i really have to say is that the pool was clean and the location was close to a lot of different venues.

Cockroach's

Hotel was surrounded by barbed wire, toilet did not flush, cockroaches all over bathroom at night, staff came to room and poured poison on my floor to help with cockroachs, we have a 4yr old. Ice machines did not work the entire time we were there. Not all the TV channels were working, like they claimed to have. Pool was the only good time about the hotel. Location is terrible, surrounded by hookers and pimps, lots of fighting outside in the night.

Excellent Location

Decent hotel for the price in a great location. Close to Busch Gardens and other attractions. If you are looking for a resonably priced hotel, then check it out.

GREAT FOR THE PRICE

JUST AS THE TITLE SAYS---GREAT PRICE N EXCELLANT HOSPITALITY, GREAT LOCATION IN THE TAMPA LOCATION...GREAT LOCATION FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO SEE THE SPRING TRAINING GAMES---CLOSE TO MAJOR BASEBALL FIELDS. WOULD STAY AGAIN===A LITTLE OUTDATED WITH FIXTURES N FLOORS IN BATHROOM, AND HAD A LEAK IN THE ROOM FROM UPSTAIRS AC, BUT MANAGEMENT WAS RIGHT ON IT.

bad experience

Less than zero stars

Our experience at this hotel was horrible to put it mildly. We arrived with our 2 children and we were astonished to see ladies of the night on the premises. The rooms were disgusting- mold and stains everywhere in the bathroom and all over the carpet. The sheets were also dirty. The view was of an empty lot full of trash and questionable characters roaming around. We checked out 6 hrs later after we came back from sighseeing. We could not even imagine staying in this filthy/ unsafe hotel with our children.

It was good.
