Ok hotel in central area
We were there to check out apartments in Tampa. It was close to pretty much everything and easy to navigate from. The pool looked nice from our window but we had no time for that. The breakfast was average free hotel breakfast. The staff was real friendly. The beds were a bit on the lumpy side but the room was clean. Room also included microwave and mini fridge

My wife and I enjoyed our stay
I enjoyed my stay with a couple of exceptions: first; we stayed 7 nites and my room key was deactivated 2 times; secondly, it was a busy week for the hotel and unforunately one of the two elevators was out of order for half of my stay: 4 days and was still out of order when we checked out; at which slowed down service to all the quests; lastly, and I know that this complaint is out of your control, but continuously during the early morning and late at nite quests would let their room doors slam, making distrubing loud noise during those times;

Friendly service. The beds, pillows, and sheets were old- uncomfortable and need to be updated badly. This Holiday Inn Express pales in comparison to the others I've stayed at.

convenient and good breakfast
A little hard to find since it is hidden behind a closed former steak restaurant on the highway behind Tampa stadium, it was pleasant and quiet (especially considering how close it was to the airport--didn't hear the planes at all.) Excellent breakfast considering it was free and the hotel price was very reasonable. It's in the part of town near the auto dealers, so it's not fancy, but it was fine as a business hotel and I appreciated the free wireless internet.

Head down towards Rt 275 and have a nice buffet dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. For fancier fare turn right on Spruce Street for the better restaurants.

Scary parking lot & weak WiFi
As a female business traveler in the area alone, I can say that I did not feel entirely safe at this property. It is set off the street behind a closed down restaurant. The parking lot lighting was poor except in the very front of the hotel. However, if you arrived at certain times there were no spots near there and you had to park near the Comfort Inn or the dilapidated former shopping center on the other side. There was no security or anything near the entrance, so if felt very isolated and unsafe. Also, my room key got blanked out one night and I went to the reception desk to ask for it to be reinstated. The girl at the desk (whom I'd never seen before) didn't even ask me for ID. Just asked me the room number and returned my key to me. On my way back up to my room I was thinking about how easy it would be for someone to just get anyone's room key if this is their policy.... scary! The WiFi signal in the hotel was so weak as to be useless. I had no choice to plug in my laptop via the hardwire ethernet. However, I was not able to use my tablet at all due to the WiFi issue. Breakfast was free... but also not good. I've stayed at many similar hotels and at least the breakfast is most times edible. They have a pancake machine that is supposedly to provide fresh pancakes in the morning. They unfortunately maintained a rubber-like consistency. Eggs were cardboard tasting. Unfortunately breakfast was an epic fail. Positive attributes did include friendly staff including Felicity at the front desk. The room I stayed in was quite large and did have a refrigerator and a microwave. That's about the best I can say for this hotel though. In summary... disappointing.

Good Value and Good Breakfast
The hotel is conveniently located next to the highway and lots of restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning. The food was very good and it was just convenient to be able to eat there. The staff was extremely nice and helpful! We had a GREAT TIME! I highly recommend it!

Fantastic Hotel
We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. Beautiful, clean room. Nice pool and delicious breakfast. I haven't been around a friendlier and more helpful staff. They shuttled us everywhere we needed to go within a three mile radius of the hotel and that was such a help. Definitely will stay there again if I need to return to Tampa Bay!!!
