The getaway

The hotel was nice. The Complimentory Breaskfast was Fantastic, the best ever!! The Air Conditioning was lacking, in that it would not cool the room down to a comfortable level. This was the only issue we had to an otherwise very nice stay at the Embassy Suites. Yes we would stay there again, but hope the AC is working better next time.

Great location and room, management not so much

We booked a king suite for the labor day weekend. Overall, the support staff was very nice and friendly, quick to respond with things like extra towels, etc. However, the management was very uncooperative when it came to resovling an issue on our last day. We were rudely awaken on Sunday morning at 9 AM by loud drills and saws just below our room on the 2nd floor. I called the front desk and asked if they were doing construction or something and was told yes. When I questioned them as to why we were not informed of this upon booking or upon check-in, I was told it was their corporate policy that they can do any type of work they want after 9 AM. I again asked why I wasn't told about this earlier and they continued to give me the runaround about policy. After 2 calls and a trip to the front desk, I still never got to speak to the manager, they refused my request for a room comp or a voucher, and finally after 2 hours of this nonsense offered me a discounted rate on my next stay. The "discount" they offered was the same rate I can get booking anywhere online. The whole experience left me in a bad mood and I was extremely dissapointed by the way I was treated, they way the management hid in the back and behind corporate policy, and by the fact I was never allowed to speak with anyone in charge. I travel quite a bit and have never experienced this level of incompentence and rudeness from a hotel manager. I gave them several chances to make things right, and their attitude was basically, so sorry sucks for you.

Very nice hotel with one glaring flaw

Went with the two tiny children and my wife to see some relatives in Florida. The Embassy suites was a very nice hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that a pack & play for my 22 month old to sleep in was complimentary, which greatly reduced our luggage issues. The breakfasts were always very good (Embassy Suites has made to order omelettes which are very good, and their buffet breakfast in general is excellent). They've also got a reception each evening with a couple of free drinks, but we never had any opportunity to take advantage of it. The location was very good, being just a block or so off Brandon's main drag and very close to several highways. Dining and shopping opportunities within a few minutes of the hotel were numerous. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and doted on our two little ones. The one flaw was that the Embassy Suites at this location did not have complimentary internet in the rooms (they do have it available for a daily fee though), which is a pretty serious one in the view of a West Coast traveller like myself that considers internet as obligatory an amenity as towels in a hotel.

Very Nice Hotel

I was looking for a 4-5 star hotel but none was available the night we stayed so we "settled" for the Embassy Suites because it was at least close to the highway. Boy, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was immaculate and even though the rooms are situated in a courtyard setting, they were totally soundproof. The rooms were simple and elegant. We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great!!

Review of Hotel

The room was comfortable and open; nice facilities. The interstate ended up being outside of our hotel room which I wasn't aware of... The happy hour availability was awesome although the staff didn't notify us about it... I think because we had 2 kids... We didn't get to enjoy the breakfast but what a great treat... Since the swiming pool was closed b/c of "waste" in the pool the manager did bring the girls a small gift... However, it was just something else for us to pack... The rooms were not ready when we got there at 3:35 p.m. We had to wait until 4:00 p.m. for a room- this didn't make much sense to me but we waited. A few other customers were very angry.

Mostly Wonderful

This is a beautiful hotel, with a mostly great staff -- but there were a few problems. They didn't have our reservation and no record of our prepayment and wanted US to fix that. Eventually we got that ironed out and were directed to our handicap access room -- on the 5th floor, as far from the elevator as it could be! The walk to and from the room was exhausting, but the rest of the stay was great. Housekeeping was good; the breakfast team was superb, the bar staff professional, etc.

Enjoyed the experience

There was a high school hockey team staying at the hotel and suprisingly the room was so quiet that I did not know they were there until I left the room for breakfast. I am totally amazed about the quality of the rooms! I will definately stay again.
