Americas Best Value Inn and Suites Tampa

I was traveling through Tampa, FL and my car broke down. The shop needed to keep my vehicle overnight so I needed a hotel. This hotel was in a good location, clean and very inexpensive.

When I arrived I immediately noticed the hotel was newly renovated. I was pleasely surprised!! Because it is a single star hotel I was worried but once I saw what the hotel has done to improve itself I was very happy!

The check-in person seemed to not be the most friendly person....definately did not seem to be a people person. I had to pay $2 for a parking permit therefore my car would not be towed...I have stayed at quite a few places, in the city and in the rural areas and I have never had to have a parking permit while staying at a hotel. You do however receive the $2 back when you turn the parking permit back in. The nicest part of the room was the bathroom, which looked like it was just redone...but the toilet blocks you from opening the bathroom door all the way. I was supposed to have a queen bed, however they put me in a room with two double beds. The bed was awful, it was sagged in the middle, and the other bed was just as bad, but you could feel the springs on that one. The room was rather depressing, but for an overnight stay, it wouldn't be so bad...but I stayed three nights. The sheets were clean, but smelt like bleach and the comforter had the smell of women's perfume over it...where they didn't seem to wash it from the last guest. The weeknights were quiet around there, however on my last night there, which was a Friday, it did get rather loud with I-4 and U.S. 41 traffic. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

If you have a choice to spen an extra 10.00 well worth doing!!! This place was awfull, the pool was drained and closed, looks like has NOT been open in a few years. The room gross holes in the comforter, saw a cock roach on the wall, and few bugs on floor by our door, if breakfast consists of 2 brown spotted bannanas, old cold coffee a half drank bottle of sunny d 4 mini muffins they had out, well as you can see we went to dunkin donuts. I would never stay there again

The hotel itself was in a good location in terms of getting on/off the highway and getting around but despite a "renovation" this hotel did not bring us comfort or a sense of security. The halls smelled of smoke (despite a non-smoking policy), the room numbers were written on small pieces of paper and taped near the doors, the room was painted recently but the furnishings/lamps, etc were older and no extra linens were provided. The Pool has not been filled or cleaned so that is not a true amenity to be listed. The Wi-Fi did work well and there were complimentary Nutri grain bars and small muffins for breakfast but the quantity seemed to be rationed for the amount of guests. All in all, for my $43/night I should have realized you get what you pay for.....

Americas Best Value Inn and Suites Tampa was going thru updating, and room was great. When finished with changes this will be a PERFECT getaway stay.

My younger sister and I (20 and 17 years old) booked this hotel to visit colleges. We stayed no longer than 15 minutes before checking out and leaving town. The entire building is old, run down, and filthy. Room number signs were on paper taped to the wall, the front desk was left unattended for over 20 minutes while I was trying to check in, and the smells coming from the hallways were horrendous. The room was disgusting. Ripped comforter, thrift shop furniture, and the toilet paper wasn't even in a holder. The door would not lock from the inside. After deciding to leave, we spoke to a local cop across the street. He advised us the place is swarming with s.e.x offenders. This is NOT a place worth spending ANY money.

been staying here every week for the past 2 months and has been very clean and comfortable. staff is very nice and helpful. rooms are re done and very nice. beds r comfortable.

I had read other reviews and had second thoughts about booking at this hotel. They rooms and linens were clean the staff was friendly and my stay was pleasant.

The hotel from heck! I had read reviews about this place and thought they might have been outliers. No, I was terribly wrong. The building was old and rundown and looked like it was falling apart. The locks on the doors had peeling paint and didn't look well secured. The place looks like it's about to go out of business! The night I stayed they said it had rained a few days before and the water leaked on all their internet and cable equipment. So the internet in my room didn't work and they had to move me to the other side of the hotel where it did work. But the cable was completely out in every room. The AC took an entire DAY to fire up and get the room cold. This was on the maximum setting! The rooms stank and had an arid quality to the air. Something in the air gave me a cough, which probably isn't healthy. Additionally the sheets were hard and uncomfortable. Furniture: there was no table, but some reason I had a huge couch. The bathroom was sparse, and they did not regularly refill the toilet paper! Terrible experience. Beware!!!
