Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and found the overall experience (amenities, location, food) to be absolutely wonderful. The value of the package could not be beat. Highly recommended!

We chose the Vinoy Renaissance for its perfect location and for its history. We wanted a charming hotel and for this point, it was just fine. However, I must say that it has been disappointing to see how dirty and sticky the deckchairs were. We used the swimming pool twice and both times, the white deckchairs were really dark (I used 2 or 3 towels not to be in contact with the black stains, probably drinks or old traces of food) I tried to move to another part of the pool but I could not find any deckchair which was clean. We had a drink while at the pool: first you have to pay for your drink, then you wait, wait, wait...Very unusual. In the bathroom, there were stains on the floor that I removed myself on the 3rd day. Just wanted to check how long they would stay there...Dust on the furniture as well. Very dirty windows. The door for the toilets needed to be fixed as it could hardly open . Another disappointment : internet connection (wifi and cable): both cost about 15 USD/day when in most other hotels that I visited in the US, it was free. I used the computers at the business center: They charge 5 USD each 10 minutes .You are invited to insert your credit card for first. Then, no warning if you stay 11 or more minutes... Positive points; again, the location, the charm and the staff who has been very kind, very polite, very helpful!

The rooms were very nice and well kept. They have coffee in the lobby and supply you with a complementary newspaper of your choice every morning. The service is good. If I had one complaint it would be the quality of the food. It was a disappointment. I ordered room service which wasn't the least bit appetizing. It did arrive very quickly.

My gf and I were delayed by 8 hours due to delta and we did not receive our luggage until the next day. I say this because when the hotel staff found out about this they did everything in their power to make us comfortable including complementary champagne and snacks for two. Other than that the hotel is right next to some great restraunts and bars, has a terrific pool, and a beautiful lobby. Thank you vinoy people for salvaging my weekend!

There is a reason you pay a couple extra $'s to stay at this style hotel. From the check-in to frozen grapes and popsicles by the pool, they treat their guests well. Location, food, ambiance the Vinoy has it all. Wife said it was the best work out room she uses at any hotel we stay at regularly. Spa, gold, tennis, plenty of activities.

The hotel was beautiful. Although it was under renovation while we were there, all of the amenities were available and the construction did not affect our stay. My trip was half business and half family vacation. As a family vacation spot, this hotel is perfect. Great Location. Walking distance to just about everything and easily accessible to the interstates. As a business traveller I was annoyed that the hotel did not have a free breakfast or free internet access. The only free breakfast offering was coffee and bite sized muffins. Internet was $15 per day!!! WOW. 2 days and I could have purchased a month's worth of internet at home. Luckily, everywhere you go around the city has free WiFi. Still loved my time at the Vinoy and would recommend it to anyone.

What a deal [...] to find such a high quality room that averaged $109 per night.The Vinoy is as good as you can get for a quality hotel. When I first opened the door to my room I aid "[*], this is a $400 a night room easily". I emailed everyone I knew to brag about my good fortune. [...]

The gentility and graciousness of the Vinoy from check-in to check-out was extraordinary. Besides the beauty of the hotel and the location, the room was lovely and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice property which looked exactly like the photos in their marketing material. Room deal was great, buy 2 nights and get a 3rd free. Rooms are very large. Elevators are really small! Food and beverage on property is priced at a resort level, which we expected. However, there are a lot of options within walking distance. Fitness center is great: spacious, clean and a lot of equipment. Pool is nice. Views of the marina are very pretty. You can find free parking on the street that is very convenient. We would stay here again.

The Vinoy is a classic 1930's restored renaissance hotel. The architecture is stunning and in excellent condition. The rooms are large and very comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The Vinoy is located in downtown St Petersburg and is very easy to access by automobile. It is within walking distance of many fine restaurants, museums and the water front. We were very happy with the hotel service and with our accommodations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this hotel to everyone. The summer rates made this hotel affordable for us, but it is a little pricey during the winter season.
