Knights Inn St Petersburg Tropicana

Descent cheap place for a quick night's stay for one night.

Went to a Rays-Red Sox ball game 4pm on Saturday. Stayed at the Days Inn St. Petersburg that evening. It appeared OLD, shabby and in dire need of a face lift. The clock in the room did not even work.

[...] probably would have been better to associate Days Inn with Knights Inn because it was really confusing to figure this out.[...] thing I got it on a nearby Waffle House because what they have was pathetic. Upon check in (late evening) the person at the counter really acted as if I was about to rob the place, no eye contact, not professional and barely made any conversation. And surprisingly, the price I originally booked for on [...] was much higher than what my receipt mentioned. Also it was a pain trying to get the password for the internet because the guy could not explain clearly what the he** is the password, it was really so hard to understand (he was Indian descent) I just gave up altogether on connecting. The room was fine, although it smelled like someone smoked in it despite getting a nonsmoking room. For the price I paid, I'd much rather go elsewhere it wasn't worth the price. Avoid this place if possible.

Room was clean and comfortable, and centrally located to the area. The only disappointment was the continental breakfast. The best I could give it would be below average, and that's being kind, but there's a waffle house next door that I would recomend first. But I will stay there again if I need a room.

The hotel was pretty much what I expected for the price. It was an ok room, it was clean for the most part. I didn't find anything too wrong with the place for a cheap stay. There was one bad thing, there was a cat in the room that my friends checked into. Pretty strange...

I travel to St Petersburg because of the MLB game Rays vs White Sox with my family and I had a good experience. I'm a state inspector so I know what to look for in order to know if a room is ready up to standard to rent and I have to say this motel had it all. Clean, Friendly Staff, No mold or bad odor, Price was right and fare and breakfast was very decent. Thanks Days Inn for making my weekend "innolvidable"

The staff was fine...they could've updated the website to inform potential guests they had renovations being done on-site. But what was worse was where they placed us. They obviously have families that live there - no problem. They were on a completely different side. But they placed us way in the back of the hotel, next to what appeared to be gypsy style travelers who were holding up in that hotel for who knows how long. We had several people try and open our door while we were in the room, and all night long something or someone was in one of the adjacent room bathrooms - banging away on who knows what. They had an almost completely empty parking lot, and could have placed us in a room next to the pool, or closer to the front of the hotel entrance - would've have made a better impression on us. Now, we won't be going back.

The rooms smelled horrible. It was mildewy smelling and nasty. The carpet was mildly damp which is probably where the smell was coming from. The shower was horrible and the water was pelting at your skin so hard you could barely stand to be under it. The location in general was ok. Not the greatest, but also not the worst. The building itself was a little disappointing to look at and it was definitely missing that something special! We will not be staying here ever again.

Would stay here again, not bad for the price. actually pretty nice

We went to the beach. The room was fine and clean but the service from the one staff member lacked any personal touch. He was actually a little rude. No name tag so I don't have a name. Over all a very good trip and I feel like I got what I payed for. Thank you Orbitz.
