Great luxury experience and a good value for the area
We were surprised to find it was as nice as it was ... most of the hotels in the area are so kid-focused that they don't totally know how to do luxury, but the Waldorf did not disappoint and we are world travelers. Everything was great and the rooms were much cheaper than Disney hotels on property (and about the same distance from the parks) so it we were worried it wouldn't be as nice, but it was WAY better! We'll definitely stay there again.

Water Stopped Working
The hotel was nice. Further away from Magic Kingdom than I thought it would be. Staff was mid-level friendly and service was below what I would have expected. Biggest shocker of the trip was losing water in my room. The staff apologized, but did nothing to help provide some water in the interim. Was out for about half the day. I would say that it was shocking to lose water, but I was just in New Orleans at another five star hotel and the hotel / entire city lost water for almost a day, so I am getting used to it. Hopefully this is not a trend for the country.

Disney with Three Generations
We had six people in our party - three generations of our family. We stayed at the Waldorf for a week. We booked two rooms (one suite and one regular room). We were concerned they would not be adjoining since we were told it was not a possibility. What made our trip was Morgan at the front desk. She was FABULOUS and accomodating - she took care of our greatest concern and with such professionalism, care, and attention to detail. We loved the Waldorf and really enjoyed room service, the pool, pool dining, shuttle service to/from Disney, valet services, the great rooms, and the Nespresso coffee machines in each room. Very clean, very comfortable, and the staff was very knowledable and friendly. Overall an excellent experience for all.

a great family destination vacation
the front desk staff was very accommodating to the special requests we made, ie connecting rooms, early check in since we arrived on the red eye flight from seattle and late check out for the 6:30p.m. flight home. suite especially convenient for 4 year old in party for bed time. bus transportation to disney sites a convenience but the rental car was nice for other attractions and dining other than the hotel or disney. the hotel has an expresso machine in room but we requested a hot pot to boil water for us tea drinkers. lots of expresso pods but we had to buy tea as no tea bags provided. pool was especially relaxing - wished we had taken more advantage of it before the 6th day instead of the10 to 12 hour days at the parks. be sure to explore all the possibilities at the hotel before planning your days. eventhough the hotel is right next to a golf course, my husband did not know about the possibility of hitting an unlimited number of ball and rental of clubs for just $25 until the last day of our stay. there is also a lazy river park next door at the Hilton that is available to the Waldorf residents ( a five minute walk) that we wished we would have known about earlier. A once in lifetime first class family vacation at a luxury hotel that had the most comfortable pillowtop beds with down comforters.

great retreat for winter
Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando was a great getaway from the early winter northern cold. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We did not eat much at the hotel, but they had a few good menus (moderately expensive ) to choose from. Your Lounge Bar is a great place to get an evening drink before dinner. The Athletic club was clean and has a great selection of equipment. The heated pool was great but the cooler days kept us out of the water. The transportation to Disney theme parks was excellent; The Hilton/Waldorf has its own bus. Transportation to non-Disney resorts is the visitors responsibility. If you have a car, self parking is $13/day ( clock starts each time you go in and out) and valet is $20/day (plus tips ). One thing for the hotel is to ask if you want feather free rooms. This hotel uses both feather mattress pads and pillows, and we did not know this upon check in. The Midnight desk person was unaware nonfeather options and it took most of the day and another call to get our bedding changed to feather free. Overall, this was a great off-season retreat. There were very few children at his time of year, but I suggest that the hotel segregate families with children to limit the noise between rooms. Customers should be offered a floor option without children.

If you don't want to go to the majic kingdom, but want to view the fireworks at Disneyworld, take the bus to the transportation center and get on the Monorail to the Polynesian resort. You can see the fireworks clearly form their beech. We ordered a sushi carryout to take to the beach.
