Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites ACROSS FROM UNIVERSAL ORLANDO

My family and I were absolutely sickened by the filthiness of this property! I have taken photographs to back up any comments! There was mold on the walls in the bathroon amd sleeping quarters. The sheets were dirty, the water never stopped running, there was mold all over the bathroom, not to mention dirty towels and items left behind by the other occupants!

First they gave us a room that was already occupied. We walked in on the old man and we apoligized. So we went back to the desk and she put us in a room... all the way up on the top floor (10th). Our keys didnt work so we couldnt get in. So I went back to the desk and they activated the key again. Went back to the 10th Floor and the keys worked. BUT... the room was never cleaned from the previous occupant! This time we're furious! We went back down to the desk... again... and they put us in a Suite on the 5th Floor. A lot of hassel just trying to get into a room and relax especially driving all morning and spending all day at Universal Studios. The room... did not smell so pleasant! NEVER AGAIN!

The room was not ready at 4:00 p.m. It was supposed to be non-smoking but wreaked of smoke. The A/C faceplate was completely off of the unit and when we turned it on it was so loud it made the walls of the room vibrate. The 2nd room we were given (because the king size bed rooms weren't completely cleaned)had two double beds that were more like over-sized twins. There was mildew in the shower, the fire sprinklers in the room were completely rusted and corroded. The walls were stained, the A/C faceplate was falling off, rust was all over the hinges. I recommend you don't stay here or at least don't book online with Orbitz because you won't get a refund for a hotel that needs serious renovation and care.

Had to fill out an incident report due to the coffee pot. Blow dryer didn't even work, thankfully I had brought my own. The faucets in the bath tub were very loose so you had to hold the part where the water came out as you turned on the shower.

We went on vacation and I was expecting a better hotel. The first room we received was not good at all, we requested to be changed and they gave us another room that it was worse. The room smell bad...like a lot of humidity. Honestly, I stayed in other hotels like Hyatt, Sheraton and even Mariott and the service and the ammenities are better. Do not recommend this hotel...the only good thing was the location.

Dirty Room, not enough towels, dirty Bathrooms, rusty and noisy A/C

our first room had a big cockroach which we had to kill with our slippers..we had to request a second room. The $10 breakfast buffet at tgif was pathetic, room is very moldy/humid especially the bathroom, hallway stinks, took me almost 20min to get a water off the vending machines in the building since most ones i tried didn't work, locating at the gate to universal studios wasn't all that since it's still too far to walk there anyway, felt unsafe at the parking lot at night

This hotel was terrible. Basic amentities were missing like a fridge and microwave. the fitness center was a joke and the ants in the bathroom were not fun. The rug looked like someone got killed and bled out.

I cannot articulate the odor that permeated the whole property. The hallways ans lobby were hot, NO ac at all. The door I was instructed to enter to gain access to the 2 room suite I had reserved, was nearly blocked by a large machine that raised personel to the higher areas. I was sprayed with what I trust was just water as they were pressure washing and did not stop after I had waited a few minutes. The hallway carpet was spotted with paint and drywall and smelled molded or mildewed, either way it was most ubpleasant. The noise level was hideous on the lower floors and the heat was nearly unbearable. I did feel sympathy for the help and voiced same, they assured me it was ok, but the sweat gave away the lie.I did decide to go up to the eighth floor in case conditiions had improved. The hallways were newly carpeted but still hot no AC and the room was vary nice actuially IF one could get past the odor, I however could not. Needless to say I elected not to stay. The front desk personel was very understanding and agreed to refund charges but I need to contact [...] myself. This also proved to be a bit of a challenge. The wait time was very excessive, well over 5 minutes and the process took much longer than I had anticipated, resulting in my having to phone my daughter at the airport so she could gat a taxi instead of my picking them up as planned. That was a $50.00 ride also excessive but there you have it when you are at thier mercies. I did request [...] to transfer my reservation to another hotel in the vicinity to no avail. I stayed at the Hyatt at a much greater rate but was totally satisfied with the service. [...]

The closeness of this hotel to universal is great but the hot hallways and falling apart rooms makes it not worth it and also I personally don't like when the put you on a floor they are remodeling and all you can smell chemicals and which it makes it very dangerous and not to mention I came home sick from it and just now a week later getting better. So never agian for the hotel or should I say dump
