Days Inn Orlando Universal Maingate

I took a visit to Orlando to enjoy the famous theme parks. My boyfriend and I stayed at Days Inn. Even though the Inn was less than 2 minutes away from universal Studios the experience at the Inn was NOT great at all. My flight landed in orlando at 11 A.M. and as I arrived at the Inn at 11:20 A.M. the staff at the Inn would not allow me to check in until 4 P.M.. My boyfriend and I waited around the Inn than got fed up and traveled around Orlando. ( we got off the plane and was expecting to change and shower before going out). The Inn was stuffy,can't open window and when u shower with hot water the steam does not leave the room because the bathroom had no windows or anyways of getting rid of the steam. Every morning for the 5 days that we stayed in this Inn you can hear everyone walking back and forth in front of your door.

The continental breakfast is pathetic at best. The hotel had no bugs and the sheets were clean. These were the two positive things about this hotel. This is worth the $40/night. That's about it.

rooms were clean and spacious. There was an annoying charge of $2.50 per day "for the use of the telephone" But we had cellphones and did not need or use the hotel phone. Breakfast was next door and we were charged for it so we walked to the cracker barrell and ate there. Desk was most accomodating to any questions and assistance.

We had issues with one of the rooms rented in which the AC did not work. At check in we were told we had connecting rooms but once we got to the room they weren't. We tried to get different rooms that were connecting and we were told the hotel was book to capacity and no other rooms were available. We then had issues with one of the rooms in which the AC did not work, all of a sudden there were 2 other rooms available. We ended up moving just one of the rooms. At check out we had to pay a resort fee that was not disclosed at time of booking or at check in to the resort. We still had to pay even after the inconvinience we had. On a positive note, the rooms did seem clean and smelled good.

we feel very bad into this hotel as we stayed in for 3 days out of which 2 days there was no hot water in the room, nor they provide any drinking water facility into the room. I don;t know how much time they took to fix the promblem but they keep on saying that something going bad with their boiler which they called is responsible for not warming the water for the complete hotel.

Room was spacious and clean. The staff were very helpful. Was especially appreciated the fact that the floors were not carpeted because we always travel with our cats and it made cleaning up after them simple. I would suggest that staff review some minor issues as relates to the bed: the underside of the boxsprings were very tattered-this does not make a good impression. Also, this hotel should not be advertised as "withing walking distancc" to the entrance to Universal Studio Park but should include that shuttle service to all parks is available. Otherwise, all was good.

Great location over all good trip. The only thing was that at 6:30 AM the hallway lights were off, and it was pitch black outside. I guess they haven't changed the timer on the lights.

This hotel was a great place to spend the night. We didn't spend much time there but the staff was nice and the room was clean. Great value especially since it was the cheapest hotel in walking distance from universal studios.

Its a good price, and a great location. The room served its purpose, a place to sleep and shower, but i wouldn't want to stay there for an extended vacation. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy.
