Very clean, comfortable room

Very clean, great staff, restaurant only for breakfast, being worked on. Main issue is no parking and local garage was full for wine and food festival, otherwise great stay. Great location.

Average Stay

FIne place to stay if you are looking for a clean average room in the area. I chose the Wyndham looking for a few of the amenities of a chain, but did not find any difference between this hotel and others surrounding it. Chose to stay a second night at a different hotel a block away for $75 less that was very similar but had more modern rooms. The Wyndham does have a pool, which does set it apart from some of the nearby hotels.

weekend getaway

This hotel was a good weekend hotel, needs some work. There is no parkingat the hotel had to park to blocks away with added expense of 25-28.00 a day charge for ramp parking. They said they were doing work , you could see thru the door jamb, rooms were cute but diffently need better ventalation. Bed was awesome, and batheroom was small but very clean.

Perfect Location

I spent a weekend at WG for a girls weekend and had a blast. Location was excellent, rooms are clean and a decent size, free wifi and fresh fruit available everyday. The one complaint I would make is that although the customer service was ok there was only one person at the front desk and there was ALWAYS a line. This made something as simple as asking a quick question time consuming. I would definietly stay here again

Location and no mishaps

We weren't expecting much beyond a good location and that's what we got. The staff is competent. The hotel is ordinary but it's 2 blocks from the beach and reasonably close to a bunch of restaurants and bars

Unless you absolutely must - don't go to the bars on Ocean drive. Lincoln Street is much better without the foot traffic that's always in your way, bumping your elbow, commenting on your food and drink etc

wait is that blood?

when we were trying to find it, it did not appear as it does in the pictures online. this made it very difficult to find. we called for directions since we made it to miami and they failed they just told us it was behind the diner next to the police station and the museum. there are three nearby museums, behind the diner there is apartments that look more like the online pictures then the hotel and there is no parking or valet for the hotel. next, the room was disgusting! there was blood on the bathroom towles, the tub, the walls, the window, the sink, in front of the tv, above the front door, and it appeared to have never been cleaned. the layer of dust on the ceiling fan which didnt work (like most of the the wall outlets in the room) added to the nastiness in the room. oh, did i forget to mention the hairs on the bathroom cieling or the broken door lock so we couldnt prevent entry? how about the caulk job in the bathroom and the paint splattered in the tub and on the floors in the bathroom. no tissues and trash in the room when we arrived. did someone have like a party which destroyed the bathroom? is that why you repainted? the staff was very...helpful? they were "polite" and said they would call maintance look into it. thank you employee of the month for not offering our money back or some form of restitution for the something. if we had noticed the grossly cleaned room sooner instead of going out in miami, we would have wanted a room switch and a refund. i will never stay at this hotel ever again even if i have to stay in a super eight, at least they are cleaned.

Ready for a renovation

The location of this hotel is its biggest draw. It's a short walk to the nicest part of the beach in the area as well as lots or restaurant choices and shopping within a few blocks. However, it does sit on the edge of an area that is in transition with many building closed. There are signs up at property edge that this company has placed application to change the place. Although a retro art deco building, it is in need of much work. Our room on the first floor was in need of a new floor in the bathroom, and shower which was accessible needed a complete overhaul. It took at least 5 minutes of wasted water to regulate the temperature of the shower which ranged from dangerously hot. A built-in accessablity chair was too far away for a challenged person to reach water controls for scalding water. Doors and windows were poorly sealed - light coming in around the door- so noise from the breezeway outside the door was disruptive as late as 1 a.m. Had to call the front desk for soap, poor T.V. reception, and coffee. The phone was not working so calls had to be made at 11 p.m. at front desk, which meant walking outside and around the building after dark to have access to a phone with no privacy. On a positive note, the beds were great... comfortable, clean, plentiful pillows. Pool looked fine although we didn't have time to use it. But outdoor furniture in need of replacement, especially tables and chairs. This location has great potential if/when serious upgrade occurs. There were no evaluation tools to use at the hotel.

Good Getaway

Location was the #1 feature of the Wyndham Garden South Beach. Just 2 blocks from the beach and Ocean Drive, plenty of great casual dining, and night clubs within walking distance. We had two rooms: Jr Suite (dbl beds) and an accessible room (dbl beds) we didn't have anyone disabled in the group, we just needed a dbl bed room. No complaints about the Jr Suite, amenities were as expected. The accessible room needed some improvements. The shower was floor level for disabled accessible access however there was not an extra drain on the floor so water from the shower would flood the entire bathroom. We had to ask for extra towels everyday so that we could sop up the lake in the bathroom. Staff was friendly and very helpful. We arrived early before check-in time and were able to leave our luggage in the lobby and even check-in an hour early.
