Stylish South Beach hotel with free happy hour and bustling nightlife

When in South Beach, lounge, dine and cocktail like the locals. The nightlife sizzles at the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club, thanks to two rooftop pools, three bars and two restaurants, including the people-watching hub Maxine's. The Catalina celebrates its boutique style with bold design elements such as stark white seating and linens and sumptuous red walls and lamps. Poolside beds reflect South Beach's quintessential luxurious approach to everyday living.

Highlights
  • Two rooftop pools, three bars and two restaurants, including South Beach favorite Maxine's
  • Free shuttle from Miami International Airport
  • Free happy hour from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Rooms

Who says white has to be boring? The hue makes a dramatic statement when paired with red walls or damask-print. Floor-to-ceiling curtains lend softness to the rooms, where Tempur-pedic mattresses, 300-count Belgian sheets and goose down comforters are standard amenities. Space isn't an issue. Each room holds enough square footage to accommodate an in-house masseuse.

Features

The hotel hands out VIP passes to the hottest clubs, but the property is a nightlife magnet on its own. Visitors can sample sashimi in Kung-Fu Kitchen & Sushi or mingle with other singles at the rooftop pool. Go ahead: Order a cocktail from the cabana bed.

When it's time to catch a flight home, guests can cut their travel time via the free airport shuttle. An in-house system also enables visitors to modify, buy and confirm their flights from the hotel lobby.

The Catalina Hotel and Beach Club Rooms

Inn the Mix
Your coming to South Beach to have a good time but don't want to skimp on comfort. You like to have some extra room and a desk to send a few emails to your colleagues back at work who aren't as lucky as you. More mature in design, these rooms feature dark wood and ivory furnishings with Tempur-pedic mattresses, 100% cotton linens, and spa bathrobes. 190 square feet - perfect for 2, can accommodate up to 4.
Living Large
You're coming to South Beach to work but will be sure to make time to play. You're looking for a quiet, spacious, comfortable room where you can work and relax. Dining

Maxine Restaurant & Bar
The Maxine Restaurant at The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club is open and serves breakfast all day long! The Challah bread French toast is already known to be the best on South Beach. Located in our North building the restaurant, caf, and bar is a great place to people watch while enjoying cocktails and delicious treats.
Kung Fu Sushi
Kung Fu Sushi is an eclectic mix of sushi and Asian food with a real kick. The menu ranges from Seabass to Japanese Red Snapper Rolls, and you'll definitely want to cleanse the palate with signature sake cocktails like the Tokyo Rose or Japanese Jade. The delicious and affordable fare is served amidst dcor that is just as impressive. Partnering with famed artist Lebo to showcase his work, this sexy mod-Asian bistro will offer a complete experience for your senses. As the choice of unique establishments offered becomes increasingly limited in Miami Beach, travelers can continue to rely on the South Beach Group as the source for lifestyle hotels and restaurants that are always original and interesting.

Perfect Price. Perfect PLACE!

I've stayed at plenty of different hotels on South Beach, this is the best one so far. A block away from the convenient store, hotel restaurant open 24/7, everything within walking distance. If you want to catch a cab to Collins-Cavalier, Wet Willies, etc- it's less than $5! The rooms are super amazing! Nice feel to it. Organized, up to date, and very nice.

Nightlife tip: Long walk from hotel

Don't tired your poor feet walking if you plan on dancing all night. Just go ahead and catch a cab! Miami cab prices are pretty cheap.

SO much fun!!

I was in South Beach for a business meeting and was lucky enough to stay at the Catalina! What a blast! Hotel was 3 different buildings, each with their own unique vibe. Pools were great, restaurants were great (especially Kung Fu Sushi), you can't beat the free happy hour! I so wish I had the time to stay a few more days after the business was taken care of. Stayed in one of the Maxine rooms that were just recently renovated, and it was a good size and totally spotless! I can't wait to return to this hotel!!!

Great Time

The staff at the Catalina are more than accommodating. Our room was spotless and the beds were so comfortable. Other than some crazy girls that decided to have a party in the hallway, our stay was great. Security came and quieted the girls and we did get to sleep. ( We found out it was spring break ) so my fault. Towels for the beach were provided as well as a beach chair, so we slept on the beach all day. I will be staying a the Catalina again.

Best service around

this place offers it all... first free beach chairs and umbrellas were great! not to mention just seconds from the sand. The on site dining options were fantastic, especially if your in the mood for some great Sushi (Kung Fu) Staff was very happy and eager to get us settled in, had no issues with the free drinks from 7-8 which my wife and i knocked back like no tomorrow! rooms were brand new and loaded with luxuries you would come to expect form a South Beach Hotel... we loved the Catalina and cant wait to check out another South Beach Group Hotel.

LOVED IT

We stayed in the Dorset side of the Catalina and WOW talk about some beautiful rooms. We loved Kung Fu (best sushi around) and also the fact that we were able to save so much money in cab fairs to and from the airport! Shuttle was free!!! Lots of different bars to drink at... all from 7-8 PM ,and not to mention the most amazing roof top pool... views of the ocean at sunset were breathtaking!

Whats not to love!!!

Hubby and i came for our first year anniversary... We were met at the front door by super friendly bell men and the front desk staff had us checked in and taken care of in a matter of minuets! For our first night we decided to try Kung Fu Sushi (well known place to eat, attached to Catalina)Im not a big sushi fan BUT this was some of the best food i have ever eaten before in my life! So good that we actually canceled our dinner reservations for the next evening and ate there again for our special night! Roof top pool and bar are so nice and the rooms are great! (check out the Dorset side... so beautiful) I hope our second year is a great as our first was at the Catalina!
