This hotel caters to extended stay travelers seeking residential-style amenities during a  visit to South Beach. Visitors will feel more like locals in these comfortable suites, bungalows and king rooms. The property is within walking distance to the area's hottest clubs, restaurants, shops and galleries. The 1930s building embodies Mediterranean style, with arched windows, beamed ceilings and a tropical courtyard. Some rooms have kitchenettes.

Highlights
  • Extended stay lodging close to Flamingo Park, Lummus Park and Lincoln Road Mall
  • Some rooms have kitchenettes
  • Courtyard for enjoying alfresco cocktails and hookahs
  • Continental breakfast

Rooms

Renovated rooms utilize rich colors such as reds and browns to complete a contemporary look. Guests choose from king rooms, villa suites and bungalows. All rooms are non-smoking and air-conditioned. The villa suites and bungalows entice longer-term visitors to take advantage of the stainless steel kitchenettes that come with a microwave, standing refrigerator and sink. Guests can log on to Wi-Fi from their rooms.

Features

The hotel is close enough to major hot spots -- Lummus Park and Lincoln Road Mall, for example -- but feels more residential. The homey feel is thanks to apartment-style conveniences such as kitchenettes and a courtyard. In the courtyard, guests can relax with a martini or take naps on chaise lounges underneath red umbrellas.

An experience not as pleasant as it should had been

The location is excellent, but we stay two nigths and the room was't clean when we arrive the second night. The air conditioning had a drip, that sounded all night and made a terrible swamp in the floor. There was not enough space to put the luggage, and the noise late at nigth didn't let as sllep, despite the continuos drop from the air conditioner. At breakfast one of the toast heaters wasn{t working, and it took long time to warm up the baggels. But at the end we had a good time.

Good location for beach and south beach shops and convention hall

I reserved my hotel months in advance and prepaid I arrived at 8pm The room I reserved with a king bed was not available. I was shown another room that was dark and gloomy at night and also in the day because it was long and narrow. The next day I was shown a much smaller room on the ground floor and opted to keep my room in the back on a higher floor because I thought it would be quieter The staff was very nice The room was clean and tidy The sink in the bathroom is under a cabinet that comes out 12inches from the wall. This makes it difficult to shave and brush your teeth without hitting the cabinet. The room was on the alley and so the garbage trucks were the alarm clock every morning at 7am I do not recommend the hotel on Sat night as the alley was also a scene of screaming arguments at 2, 3:30 and 4 AM The photos on line are deceptive regarding the charm and coziness of the rooms

Sobe

Hotel is in an excellent location if you want the whole tourist experience. Staff was very nice. Rooms are alright, walls are thin. Unfortunately you can hear everything outside your door.

South Beach Getaway

My boyfriend and I took a very short trip (2 days) to Miami. This hotel is walking distance from everything! This worked out so well. We flew Southwest so we landed in Ft. La. and we took a shuttle bus that was shared with other couples for $21 per person. Otherwise it was $70 total for a personal cab. The ride is about 25-30 mins. Not bad at all...Breakfast was normally bagel, muffin, yogurt, orange, apple, coffee, pineapple juice, hot tea. All was pretty good. We sat out on the patio of the hotel to people watch since our hotel is on the corner of Collins and 14th. Very enjoyable...Nightlife is crazy, places stay open until 4am some even until 5am and very expensive. I ordered 2 red bull and vodkas at Mansion (a popular club) and it was $42 (Gratuity is added on everything there!)..This hotel is perfect for the price. Our room was clean, no bugs!! And our AC worked GREAT!!! The shower in our room (King size bed) was tiny! You could not fit 2 people in there at all. So beware if you are on the heavy side. I could barely turn around or bend down to get shampoo... I would come back to this hotel if I were to ever visit South Beach again!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

A fish called Avalon was the best dinner I have ever had! They had a special called "the Miami Spice" - one app., one entree, one dessert. all for $35. This was the perfect deal. Go check out Avalon for Steak, Chicken or Fish. It was to die for!!!

Satisfied

We chose this hotel because we found a good package deal on the Internet. Plus, despite some negative reviews, each and everyone agreed on one important thing: Location. Just one block from the beach! :)) To honor the truth, the Beach Plaza Hotel exceeded our expectations, it's cute, very clean and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. We liked the cozy courtyard as well! Our room faced Collins Ave., which is kind of noisy, but since spring break was over, wasn't that annoying. Continental breakfast is decent and fulfilling, you have to pay a resort fee of $8.95/day. The Hi-fi internet signal is weak, so get ready to be patient! Overall we had a pleasant time in South Beach and, as highly satisfied first customers, we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Chalan on the Beach, Peruvian restaurant. Portions are generous and prices absolutely reasonable. La Sandwicherie was right in the corner of our hotel, an incredible place to grab a fresh salad or sub. BTW, I loved the salade smoked salmon!!
