Newport Beachside Resort

this was a very nice hotel I had a great time! was very relaxing! especially to take a break from work and kids!

The hotel was okay for our purpose. Small shops and restaurants within easy walking distance was nice. The mandatory $15 per day recreation fee and $15-$20 per day parking fee was not appreciated. For a week stay, these fees hurt the pocketbook. Staff was helpful and polite.

I've stayed there several times over the years. Biggest complaint? The bathrooms are in poor operational condition, showers, toilets... no vent fans, moisture problems, slip hazards for young and old. Sub-par patch work has been done in most baths. Room furniture worn and dirty. They are scrooge-like with their towels. Difficult to get a full set of bath towels delivered. And the desk staff is rude at times.

The lobby pool and beach is awesome. The lines for the front desk were always long and slow and most staff we just civil and not customer service oriented. Not that one would expect that for an inexpensive beach front location. No coffee pots in the room but they do have frig and microwave. Rooms were not very clean and the bathroom needed some TLC. But with some clorox wipes I was ok with it. It seems that they make their money on extra fees, $10 for lost room key cards or towels missing from the rooms. Our room was not ready at 3p which was check in time. We were there at 1p and they assured us it would be ready by 3p. At 330p they said give us another hour. But of course the cleaning service was harassing us before our checkout time was nearing! All room service, the bar and restaurant have an automatic 18% gratuity added. It just seems they had a lot of policies in place to make sure they got their money, which was fine as they were optional and controllable. Great beach hotel if you are on a budget! In don't think its realistic to expect to expect much more for what you are paying. I would really just want the bathroom to be cleaner.

Super convenient location- right on the beach with many nearby restaurants, a gas station, and convenience store. Resort has a restaurant/bar and fitness center.

Clean updated room, friendly staff. We had a bit of a glitch during check-in, but the staff quickly remedied the problem and waived the resort fee for the hassle. The hotel and beach were clean and well-maintained. The hotel food shop was great as well as the snack bar. The hotel also had lots of great activities. There is a gas station/convenient store across the street, as well as a shopping center with plenty of restaurants and other shopping places. I would definitely recommend staying here! The only drawback was the distance from he airport ($60.00 taxi fare), and it wasn't that close to South Beach, but if you don't need all the action of South Beach, this place is perfect!

This hotel is very nice. Has nice pools, including baby pool and great location. The drinks by the pool are expensive but good. As long as you do not stay in the room right above valet parking lot it is a good experience. Very convinient location, stores and restaurants within walking distance. Nice area with big mall nearby.

Dirty,couch had cigatrettes burn ,saw a roach in the bathroom, elevators slow and old ,bed supposed to be king was queen.

We booked I room last December and it was charged to my VISA in full. When we arrived at the hotel and showed them our confirmation number they said they were booked up and they wanted us to move to another hotel 5 blocks away. We were traveling with another couple who ran into the same problem. We protested and asked to speak to manager and after raising a fuss they suddenly came up with another room. We suspect they want to move us to another hotel since we had a discounted rate so that they could get higher rates from new people who were willing to pay the prevailing rate. We will never stay at the Newport Beach hotel again!
